I was in junior High when jackie walker started playing at UT. I remember watching him play, he was great. I think he may still hold the career record for interceptions returned for TDs.

You didn't read it in the papers back then but it was common knowledge he was gay. People still loved to see him play and other teams feared his talent. Jackie was often seen in the Old City dressed in drag. He had the skills and any "Hall" should have him recognized IMO.

So what's the news; lots of Vols are gay. Even the occupant of the "First Basketball Jersey to be retired" was well known to dress in drag and frequent the bars.

Great story.Give this man the glory that he diserves.His acheivements should be on display not his race or sexual orientation.I am not gay,or am I black.I do feel that racism in this country is still alive.We need to give people credit where credit is due.Give Marshall Walker and his family the respect and honor he diserves.

Pete: You probably have played on a team with a gay team member and did not know it. What does being gay have to do with sports performance?

Seems you're hung up on the "gay" aspect of this story... I think it's time YOU came out of the closet.

Let the voting members of the Hall of Fame give recognition to Walker where it is long past due.

Let's get it done and recognize Jackie Walker as on of the GREATS at TENNESSEE.

==========

Many blessings on Mr. Walker in his mission.

God bless us all - no exceptions !!!

I saw Jackie Walker with Diamond Darrell after the Pantera show at the Coliseum. I saw them both enter the Hyatt together.
