LSU versus Bama again?? Why not, we all love to watch Bama get manhandled by another mediocre team.

If college football was really interested in watching the two BEST football teams play for the title, the BCS would be eliminated and this years game would feature a team with a a speedy defense and pro-caliber offense (USC) versus a very balanced run/pass attack and solid, disciplined defense (Wisconsin). Both come from powerhouse conferences that are not just hype, but the real deal.

Bama and LSU might play for the title this year but neither are in the top five of the best teams in football. There are many teams that could have went undefeated in the SEC conference this year. The conference top to bottom is a joke at best. ESPN "talk" got them their rankings. LSU and Bama are both at least two loss teams in any other power conference.

It should be changed Clown to an 8 team playoff system. But just think, right now that would include THREE SEC teams.

Sounds fair and balanced! Maybe that is why the media fondly calls the Rose Bowl the granddaddy of them all!!!

So I guess I aint the only one chiming here pal...
USC - WE FIGHT ON AND WIN

I'm not at all sure you can call a 3 point win in a
73 point game a "bitchslap," particularly given that it
was only a missed goal that gave USC the win. You and I
both know USC was hanging on for dear life at the end,
having given up 21 straight points before the missed field
goal that prevented going overtime. Given the state of
things on the USC, Oregon would have had the advantage.

Nonetheless, the game is done and the Ducks let it slip
away from them during the first half and got focused too
late to make it work for them. Lesson learned. Congrats
to USC for bringing their best effort to Eugene. Winning
at Autzen is something to be proud of.

I've read the entire NCAA report on the transgressions
of USC resulting in the penalties and believe that, for
the most part, the penalties were warranted given the
repeated efforts of the administration (Mike Garrett
in particular) to stonewall an investigation. Had they
come clean at the start their penalties would have
been far less severe. The question now is whether the
"cronies" you cite levy even heavier penalties on Miami
for actions far more blatant and intentional than USCs.
If Miami's penalties are equal or less than those handed
down to USC it is clear the game is dishonest and rigged.

I cautioned friends and bettors months ago to beware of
the USC game, especially if the Ducks defeated Stanford,
as it was not only a trap game, it was USC beat opportunity
to show that just because the BCS chooses to ignore them
does not mean they are not a credible team. The game is
played on the field, nowhere else.

What USC proved, without gaining benefit in terms of the
"official" rankings, is that 3 teams in the PAC-12 are
credible among the elite schools in the country right now:
Stanford, Oregon, and USC.

No way 6 in a row - those conferences won't win 1 in each in the next 5 years.

LSU beat Oregon a lot easier than USC did. And Wisconsin lost to 2 mediocre teams this year. Neither USC nor Wisconsin could hang with LSU or Bama this year and everyone knows it, except you la, la land lugnuts that refuse to accept the truth. I hope dearly that LSU gets matched up to someone outside the SEC for the NC game. And then we can bet whatever you have in your bank account that LSU will prevail.
