PERS requires higher rates of retirement savings for public safety employees (police and firefighters) than for other public workers. Both the agency and the officers contribute more money each pay period. The real question is: Why have government agencies been allowed to extend the early retirement option to other workers (usually managers) without having made the extra contribution throughout their careers?

hey max. How fit are you? and be honest.
If I tell you I look like this I'm a liar. http://www.tradebit.com/usr/external/pub/9002...

If I tell you I look like this I'm a tub of lard. http://images.google.com/imgres...

So you see, I lose either way. It's sort of like fighting a girl. If you win, so what you beat up a girl. If you lose you got beat by a girl. You can't win.

Sorry, I'm not taking the bait.

That's fine with me as long as they're physically fit. I'd rather have a 65 year old fit police officer respond to a burglary than a 40 year old obese police officer who can't climb a fence to grab the perp.

Personally, at 52 years old, I am confident that between my fit health and my buddies Smith and Wesson, we could handle it until VPD arrived."

FORMULA FOR DISASTER/ARREST.

52 year old fit/unfit? Max,+ buddies Smith and Wesson + fence jumping perp = perp released by Vaca P.D., gun-slinging Max arrested by Vaca P.D., buddies Smith and Wesson confiscated for evidence, Max lodged in Solano jail with "BUBBA," criminal charges and civil lawsuit by perp pending, extremely high lawyer fees by non-caring lawyer, Nick Unger. It's the same as fighting with a girl, you can't win for loosing. Are you sure you want to go there, Max?

Max,
Unlike a couple of the participants in the Vaca Reporter Police Poll, you have a sense of humor. Check out the comments and name calling. I think these are grown men, aren't they?

Thank you for the unearned notoriety Charles. Yes, I read with wonderment at times what appears on this website.
