I've lived in Madison for 8 years and find it extremely frustrating to now watch empty seats on the BigTen network.

It appears that season ticket holders do not really like the easy match ups at the beginning of the season so why not hold out for every game 300-500 tickets and sell them for face value over the internet.

Instead you have to pay $50 bucks to UW to sign up for their online broker and pay market value to a season ticket holder who does not even want to be at the game.

If I announce that attendance is 1000, then 'the announced attendance' is 1000. Neat, huh?

Wow, what insight. This is the same way attendance is determined in pretty much all of college and pro sporting events as well as crowd estimates by reporters at protests.

Actually DB, many schools with women's basketball programs (Ohio State, UW-Green Bay and Marquette come to mind immediately) do post actually numbers for fannies in the stands.

I have a motor sports peer at the Indianapolis Star who counted every single seat at Indianapolis Motor Speedway a couple years back. So if there's anybody who could guess on a large or small scale what the number of fans in attendance at any event, I would bet that Curt Cavin could give the best answer. Maybe I should ask if he'll come up to a UW women's hoops game just to count the fans.

the womens team seriously should go back to playing at the field house. Smaller venue, which will make the place seem more full. The volleyball team plays there succesfully.
