Easy there Big Daddy!
You & I both know the colts run to the SB last year was exremely easy.
They could not have asked for anything better.
That's why to me it did not seem as sepecial. We did not have to beat a good Patriots team or any other team for that matter.
Wipe your chin. You missed some.

My Gawd, What in the world of Morgan Burke is going down at Purdue. I just read Joe Tiller made $231,000 last year, the lowest paid fottball coach in the Big Ten. Christ it is no wonder PU can only go 6-6 or 7-5 in the regular season and then lose a bowl game. Can't say old Morg got less than he is paying for. You pay low you get the results you pay for, second levle coaches and facilities and players. Will someone bring some sanity to the Purdue Atheltic program

The $231K is not his entire remuneration according to a good friend of mine close to the athletic department. Based on what I was told, he gets quite a bit more than $1 million/year with shoe contracts, radio/TV shows, etc. I have no documentation, but the source is pretty good. I assume its true.

Where did you get that Purdue had 20% of the fans at the IU game? You are telling me there were 10,000+ fans there? It look like no more than 6,000 considering the band took up almost all of Purdue's section. As for IU not traveling to AZ, I do not think people realize how many IU alums live out in Phoenix, Tucson, San Diego etc. more so than purdue and michigan state I can tell you that, I am willing to bet the bowl turnout will be decent.

Not a bad point. To get the next Brees, these guys have to get out and find him. The troubling thing is that these guys seem to have forgotten that Texas and Florida talent brought them back to prominence. Looking at the Dallas Morning news, there is only ONE player in the state top 100 even considering Purdue. To me, the recruiting has gone downhill. No offense to Indiana or Illinois HS Football, but it really doesn't compare, and I really don't get excited about 2 or 3 star football players from Indiana.

Get out and find some leaders for this team.

Do Purdue people have the shortest memories of anybody out there? You guys just got done not having OSU and Michigan (05 and 06) on your schedule and still couldn't compete for the Big Ten title, as if you feel it is a divine right for you to win it. It's not like IU cheated to not have those two teams, that's how the schedule works and everybody in the Big Ten counts down the years until they have to play neither. Again, remember, Purdue had the same cake walk the last two years.
As far as Tiller, I hope you guys get what you ask for. IU was unhappy with consistently being .750 and going to bowl games yet they thought they deserved more so they showed Bill Mallory the door. Look where we are now. So again, yeah, fire Tiller, and let me know who's going to come walking through the door. You think you can Lloyd out of retirement? Someone like Callahan? What do you guys want?
Be happy with W's and be ecstatic when every once in a while a Drew Brees walks through the door and allows you to be prominent for a season or two.
Nobody else is Michigan or OSU, and it will probably never happen.

I have this to say again$231K lowest salary in the big ten,Not shoes, not Tv,not radio, but salary from the University. THe lowest in the Big ten. Purdue has tenured Professors making more than that and they don't even teach a class. If they do they lecture one day aweek and TA's take over for the other two days of classes. But You get what you pay for, I can't blame Tiller for not busting his butt recruiting for chump change as compared to Ferentz or Tressel or Zook.

Maybe our football program will start cheating more like our b-ball program and we could possibly buy some good football recruits. Then we wouldn't have to play such a weak schedule to get into a bowl.
Well we should enjoy it this year, as we won't be going to a bowl in the next decade. That's for certain!

it won't matter what bowl we get, if it is outside of Indiana our fans won't go to it because most of them are so scared to leave their home towns for fear of being publicly ridiculed (which happens quite often by they way)

I've been a Purdue fan since 1949 and I wholeheartedly agree with this post. I don't know what Joe Tiller's problem is but, for some reason he cannot get his teams up for a bowl game. I've said it before and I'll say it again. As long as people fill the seats at Ross-Aide Stadium, Morgan Burke and Joe Tiller don't seem to care if Purdue has a competitive football program. Stay away from a bowl game this year because you won't do anything except embarrass the fans and alums.
IU doesn't put fans in the stands when their is nothing to watch. When Randel El was there and towards the end of this season the stadium was packed. When IU is worth anything fans will show up and since this is their first bowl since the early ninties I would think fans would flock to a bowl game. It means a lot more to hoosier fans because we are hardly ever playing in December. Thats a gold mind for anyone who picks them up.

Speaking of cheating football programs how does Illinois come up with the best recruiting class in the nation and woo Juice Williams to come play for them. Illinois is a prennial bottom feeder who all of the sudden received major talent in a year. Does anyone else see anything wrong with that?
