Maybe they dont want to come to a school where the local gang problem is pushed under the rug and it's existence denied by local law enforcement. They know what's really going on in Cville. They dont want to get caught up in that stereotype.

Yeah, that's why VCU and Richmond is doing so poorly in that demographic.

Thats all true but there's no shortages of applicants at UVA. The question is why is there a shortage of BLACK applicants.

That's funny considering 60% of the population is white and only 12% is of Asian decent....

Perhaps, in this particular instance, "diversity" is at cross purposes with merit
and quality education. Why sacrifice the latter two only to meet some quota having little, if anything to do with enrolling and
graduating the best?
We're not talking about kindergarten at this level.
