I love Mike Price, but he's gotta teach Vittatoe that it's ok to NOT e a QB sometimes. Sometimes it's OK to run with the ball.

Too many close games. Too often this team has managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. This team is good enough to be possibly be 8-2 right now, but they're juuust bad enough to actually be 3-7.

Next year will be better. Go Coach Price! Go Miners!

[Hard To Be Optimistic]

The defense is pitiful yes. But it is Price's fault. He hired the DC. He recruited the awful players. Three years of bad defense. The coaches are not learning from their mistakes. And Vittatoe is not mentally tough under pressure. He's had several chances to win the games this year and he has choked and lost all of them. We will have a losing season again next year if Vittatoe is still our QB. He chokes throughout the game. Again, Price's fault. He's made no QB changes in three years. Also, if the DC is still here next year we will have another losing season. He has got to go. Also Price cant figure out a way to beat weak CUSA teams from a weak conference. Big changes must be made. Also Price must lose the gut. It reflects negatively on his ability to make this program a success.

I was at the game, and the Miners had a chance to take control of the game in 4th Quarter but Vittatoe fumbles the snap on a 3rd and 1. Then on the last drive he forces a throw that hits Moturi in the hands, and then takes a sack because he wants to force the ball downfield. The line blocked for 8 seconds, he had open field in front of him. Vittatoe is not making the decesions of a leader. Kris Adams what in the world!!! His mama was at the game trying to get to the field to console her son after the 4th dropped pass. He can't catch the ball. Guy Holliday has to go!!! The recievers were suppose to a strenght not a liability. And the D-Coordinator Lews please do us a favor and resign your system isn't working. He didn't call the defense at UNM ROCKY LONG did!!! That is why they had sucuess.

Until UTEP can come up with a good defensive scheme and shut down opponents offenses - it will be hard to win any games.

Coach Price watch TCU. SEE HOW THEY DO IT. Study their program. The are the story of resurrection of a football program. Study Boise St. also. Both of these teams are also mid-major teams. There is absolutely no excuse not to be able to win at the mid-major level. Is Stull involved in the day to day operations of the team. If not why not? Two successful coaching minds involved is better than one. Throw out the ego and resurrect this program NOW. If not both of you may be gone after next year. Who is going to want to hire someone from a losing program to lead their program. There is no excuse. Again there is no excuse.

i swear does any1 from UTEP staff read our comments they should???? the UTEP QB has got to be taken out he sux!!! He is slow doesnt know when and where to throw the ball.. He always gets sacked never does he lead the team to a great victory... Price lost his touch he just sucks too.. i mean last year UTEP lost to Texas yes but like what 42 to 13 ok thats bad but not as bad as 64 to 7... Now there's where I disagree.$500K plus incentives up to $1M is a great deal of money that would bring in a young, aggressive coach. Kinda like Boise State when Dan Hawkins was their coach.

June Jones is a bad comparison, in that, SMU is a great deal wealthier than UTEP (endowement $$$), and since they're a private institution, they have a great deal more latitude to fund raise. Plus, lets face it, their graduates go on to run high revenue generating orgainzations.

Yes, a successful younger coach most likely will leave after two to three years, but W-T-F does UTEP care. Just stay w/a winning formula of bringing in young guys that can recruit, and the rest will take care of itself.

And, after a younger successful coach has built up the program, he can depart for greener pastures, then retun to UTEP as an athletic director. There's already a precedent, his name is Bob Stull.

We need to send a clear message. We are not happy with Miner Football. Something needs to change. In particular, no more O Lewis! Also, no more “nice” Coach Price! Until then, I say we boycott UTEP’s final home game to send a message that we want change! We demand change! Yes, Coach Price has brought excitement to UTEP Football and I thank him for that. However, we must remember how low Coach Price was when he arrived to El Paso. He was written off after the whole fiasco at Alabama. Whether Coach Price was unjustly treated by the media is a something that only Coach Price knows. But El Paso welcomed him and brought his Coaching career back to life. So it’s a give and take relationship. Coach Price helped us and we helped him. The honeymoon is over and now it’s time to reevaluate the relationship. If it’s going to be the same old shyt every damn season then it’s time to end the relationship. I rather have a different no name coach lose than Coach Price because at least it would make it bearable for me. Sorry Coach Price, I am boycotting your home games. Well stated, I'm on-board.

For the record, I reside in 'bama and was here throughout the Price/Alabama fiasco. He may have received a sizable payout for character assasination from the sports rag that broke the story on his indiscretions in Florida, but rest assured that he was guilty as hell, and is a freaking flake. Good business (settling w/Price) shouldn't be misconstrued for exonerating and/or establishing him as a saint. Alabama knew they made a mistake within 5 days of his hire. Every move he made from the time he signed on to that job was scrutinized, and that chimichanga lover has warts just like the rest of us.

El Paso doesn't owe Mike Price anything - he has the latitude to effect changes at anytime during a season to improve defense & offense. A good coach recognizes that (Spurier & Gundy), and refuses to let inept assistants determine their job security.

If Miner fans are angry considering that UTEP has never been a dominant football team and has had numerous losing seasons.......THAT MEANS PRICE IS DOING A BAD JOB. All Price has to do is win 6 games a year.6 games!1,2,3,4,5,6!That's all and he will get a bowl game and keep the Miner faithful happy.This isn't South Bend or Columbus or Austin where teams have to win 10 or more a season.
