Well, we got hammered last nite. Coach Deaver needs to be more agressive in his coaching methods. One player cannot win a game in any team sport. The defensive line did not collapse the holes and what I have seen for the last two years is there is no outside containment and the secondary whats to tackle by knocking the feet out from under them instead of tackle. The starting quarterback needs to do just that and he has a hell of a passing game, he gets hurt and your out. The second string QB doesnt have the experience yet to step up. We were down, put the younger guys in and let them gain that experience for the future. The QB now doesnt have the speed for returning the ball on special teams, but he has the size. They have players in positions that dont match, move them around coach!

I'm a little suprised at the Clay vs. Jackson outcome.
Clay's got a good new coaching staff though so watch out for them!

I really thought Jackson Co. had one in Brint.
Got to go find a new one like him & be able to keep him! It's gonna take some money & MAJOR commitment but Jackson County CAN have a good football program!

I completely disagree w/ you on the role of our "starting QB". I personally think he needs to be benched. I also disagree that the defense didnt collapse the holes. Granted, they didn't collapse them all, but they damn sure tried. As far as you stand point on the coach, I completely agree. The guys need to be playing where they are needed. But this goes back to small town politics. Its not how you know to play, but who your parents are. If it werent for the "QB"'s parents, he wouldnt be a QB.

We need more focus on a short passing game. We dont have the line for a running game and havent for some time. They need a coach for the receivers and the secondary to work with them, thats not in the coaching staff that we have now. We have a lineman coach, a QB and backs coach, but thats it.

I agree on the part of focusing on a short passing game and for your assessment on the coaching. I agree completely. We also need to teach our guys the difference between North & South and East & West. Time after time, the ball was either passed or the QB remained in control of the ball and instead of running North, they would run either East, West, or South. Granted if there arent any open holes, they have to do what they can, but there was plenty of open pockets for them to go.

people people please. deaver had this job put on him. after this year he was going to leave football. brint russell was an ok coach he led the devils to a 4-6 season last year but who's to say he would've done the same this year.the football program in jackson county is getting better last friday when we traveled to red boiling (not sayin much) but we did have more people on our side than the had on their side. derek loftis is doing many things good all u people see are the bad things. he has a hell of an arm and can throw a ball a country mile. if he could just have more time to get the ball to the receivers we would be doin much better. derek ragland does all he can at running back he cant run without blocking ONE THING DEAVER NEEDS TO DO IS GET A BIG FULLBACK to bust a hole open because when "RAG" gets in front of people he scores. but people give us a chance we have a good team we just haven't peeked yet CHECK US OUT friday night when baxter comes to town.
