USC gets put back on the defensive

USC wanted to make an emphatic statement following last week's game that everyone wanted to forget against Oregon.

In short, the special teams are a joke....when your best effort is a field goal from 40 yards or less and your punter averages only 35 a kick thats a major problem. On the otherhand, the offense is really suffering without Havili, McCoy, and sometimes Damian Williams. SC needs to grind out another ugly win against Stanford and use the bye week to get healthy for the last two against UCLA and Arizona.

USC made an emphatic statement: how lousy they are and how poorly coached they are. They have progressively gotten worse each week. Barkley has struggled for 4 games now and should have been pulled in the second half. Someone has to provvide the missing spark to the offense and give it leadership. Our defense needs to improve quite a bit also. Open your eyes Carroll and not be so stubborn. We're going to get killed this week by Stanford.

Excellent post, I was thinking the same thing about Barkley and the fact this team is going backwards, Most of PC's teams get stronger as the season goes on.

Barkley was 7 of 22 with 112 yrds, Take away the 75 yrd TD he's 6 of 21 for 37 yrds.
12 first downs, that's 3 a quarter,

Me thinks PC is gonna stick with Barkley and not admit he might have been premature with starting Barkley.

How do you guys know that putting another QB will be better? I think the whole offense is questionable. When we started this season (aside from the first game), we weren't that good when you look at the stats. Now with the injuries, we have been struggling the last 2-3 weeks. I won't be surprised that we could lose another game. We were just overrated coming in the season all because we are 'SC. With a new untested OC, new DC, new QB, semi inexperienced OL, and all of the studs that got drafted, I don't know why the majority of folks thinks SC is of a national championship caliber this year.

But, we played the 2nd ranked team in the nation; and who knows who really would've won that game had the refs called it right?

As for USC, they beat unranked Arizona State 14-9. How did they move up. I can see how LSU moved up. Our only two losses were to #1 and #2. Why would we move down? We should either move up or stay the same, depending on what happened in front of us; and Iowa lost. So, we move up! That's only right! But, USC? I don't have a clue why they moved up!:\

Does it really matter? LSU won't be in a BCS game and USC shouldn't be either. I think LSU vs. Iowa/Penn State should be an interesting matchup. Will the LSU faithful travel for this one or is it a letdown for you guys?
