All these things continue to add fuel to the fire as to why you SC-ites wonder why the rest of us and now even the media (ex-Carroll darlings) rag on your program.

Ok, choose one or the other. If he doesn't suspend them, USC has a bad program. If they do suspend them, USC has a bad program. Make up your mind.

Instead how about sit every player down alone, one-on-one, and have an R. Lee Emery/Sgt Hartman/Full Metal Jacket talk with them and say look, we are under intense scrutiny right now. If you do not conform to our "new" standards I will tear off your head and sh*t down your neck.

USC's other approach appears much too passive for the likes of us and the media, and continues to let us take target practice at you. You can clear the air by taking away anything we can for ammo...

You think maybe he's already had that conversation with them and Mr. Hall is the 2nd one to have his head torn off and his neck shyt down? Actually, he would be the 3rd (Jordan Campbell being the 1st, Dillon Baxter being the 2nd). He can't just punish people to please you or the media. If they screw up, they get punished, but the punishment has to match the foul-up. We don't know why Hall has been suspended yet, so it's a bit premature to say he's being too soft.

Pemmie my point was that talk to the guys "before" all this stuff happens so you then don't go into reactionary mode and have outsiders tell you how you are acting. Nip it in the bud! Have your guys cut out all the nonsense and as MBD stated,

Let's play some football!!!

Do you seriously think that ALL inappropriate actions by 17-23 year-old kids can be prevented by merely having a discussion with them? Seriously? If it was that easy, then I don't see how ANY kids are getting in trouble.

None of it is easy but at least have the predisposed discipline to be able to say you were forewarned! Giving these kids such celebrity slack like Hollywood Carroll did only sets up these types of detrimental situations. That is why you have to come on here and try and defend all this SC off the field b.s.

Ok, and Hall fouled up, got caught, and is now suspended indefinitely. From the little bit that has leaked, he apparently skipped a class or a tutoring session or both one too many times resulting in the indefinite suspension. Seems to me Kiffin is meting out the punishment. You can't hang what you perceive Carroll should or shouldn't have done on Kiffin.

True but a lot of these kids were under Carroll and to say his influence is not there is an oversight. But let's take this a step further.

All amateur athletes need to keep in mind that they are just that, and are not paid professional players with inflated egos. College athletics must balance with the university activities that co-exist like learning, classes, getting a good education, etc. A lesson for all university athletes not just USC!!!
