Great game! I am so thankful for the win as it made Coach Bowden a super birthday present. Our team is getting better each week. PTL

When you play in the Almost Competitive Conference (ACC) and you schedule two 2A divisions teams, needing only 6 wins to get to a bowl game, no wonder why Bowden has these superfluous records. Statistical but sundry! When does he play Agnes Scott College and Vassar - oh that's two biggies to chalk up as wins! Are the pizza places in Tally still putin tickets on top of the pizza boxes to get fans into Doak Campbell stadium just to fill it up? Last time I was there, I had 4 tickets from the box tops and NO ONE wanted them..not even the boy scouts! They said Man, you be trippin

I know no other team in the state can claim 27 years of excellence (did I mention 2 national champs?)but I wonder about other BCS teams? Maybe one day the other schools in the state can brag a little, too.

The view really stinks when you're not the lead dog! Go 'Noles!!!

That was a great game, and FSU is having a great season. Talk trash all you want, but it means nothing.

Bill the Cat, Go buy yourself a $9.95 "2009 edition of U. S. News and World Report Ranking of Universities". I know you won't believe me, but MAYBE you will put some credence in that reputable book's rankings. Check out average SAT scores of incoming freshmen at Florida and FSU. Check out acceptance rates. Check out high school class ranks of incoming Freshmen. Heck, check it all out and then have the audacity to come back here and comment about the pecking order of universities in the state of Florida.

Miami did quite well. It has become a very good school.

Bill, FSU is in there. You must be patient in going through the rankings. Don't give up.

Bill, Also ask your local Florida Congressman about the reason for the Deion Rule--the special name for it. Heck, I'll tell you myself and you can verify. In Deion's final semester atr FSU his GPA was 0.00. The reason for that stellar performance was he was NOT enrolled. As a result the legislation was passed--The Deion Rule--stipulating that to be eligible a student/athlete must be a STUDENT!!! That was defined as being enrolled. If enrolled, you could then go about attaining a 0.00 GPA. No problem. Ask your local representative about the law.

Hey Lou Vales,

When you quit obsessing about FSU, why don't you go back to work with your tail between your legs...is that your mother you work for or your wife? You work in Human Resources, right? What's wrong, couldn't get a real man's job? Probably not, because you spend your days obsessing about FSU...

Dear Obsess Much, Let me guess, a JUCO Grad(Maybe)?? Even my FSU buddies--accountants, lawyers and the like--would find your comments to not be indicative of an FSU grad.

I really wonder how many examples of excrement such as yourself actually attended FSU?? I often believe that people from different universities. pose as FSU fans just to bring down the image of a state institution.

Notice--No comment about LA because I ACTUALLY realize the address usually has Nothing to do with the poster's residence.

By the way, did you spring for the $9.95?? It's really a bargain and quite informative. Of course if you don't even have the test scores to attend FSU, I guess it's not really necessary.

You know I believe you're right. I am obsessed with this "Coach in Waiting" crap. It's really amusing and quite novel. Name me another team whose coach and/or manager has NOTHING to do with coaching but is seen as a "Figurehead"?? One example will be fine. Now the Seahawks have Jim Mora as a "Coach in Waiting" BUT in the interim Holmgren remains the head coach and decision maker.

Just one!!

Let me guess the response to U.S. News and World Report and "Coach in Waiting"-------I suck.

Lou: relax...that one idiot said something stupid about the gators. and YEAGATORS: its 4 in row, maybe 5 this year. how many times are you going to screw that one up? fact is FSU is having its best season in years and as a true nole- graduate, former player, and contributing member of society, i am proud of our team. even if we lose to UF, i just hope to be competetive, they look unstoppable right now. As far as the Deion rule, he was not the only one in the country. there were tons of other players doing that. once you graduate, why continue to take classes for one semester just to leave after the season? And while UF has higher rankings according to US News, you must admit that FSU is climbing and is quickly becoming respectable in various areas of study like meteorology, physics, and business. its admission standards are also getting higher every year. Bobby will be gone after next year. Jimbo will not wait that long.

Lou,

You're still obsessing...seriously, don't you have new employee training manuals to collate?

And to answer your question, I went to FSU, graduated with a 3.2 GPA in 1992 and work in Sports...maybe you can become our HR consultant and teach us how to become more sensitive...

You are talking chit on the Orlando Sentinel Sports discussion board about what college has the best academic program.

Who are you trying to convince and what are you trying to convince them of? Do you regularly win these academic face offs Sports threads? Sweet, and since this is what you have decided to dedicate your genius to, I think we all owe you a big "thanks" for giving up the chance to make a difference in the medical, science and business fields and making your presence felt right here.

I have to agree that UF will probably (98.99% chance) beat FSU, but come on, FSU has had some miserable years, of course we're not "amazing" like UF, but FSu is starting to become a decent team. Also, almost every school books no names and easy opponents, Penn State for instance didn't really have any contenders until OSU and then they lost to Iowa. But seriously, even UF had a bottom feeder or two in their schedule.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Pisces

Someone is extremely headstrong and defiant today, and there's every chance that you're the one fitting this description. The more others are trying to make you behave yourself or do what they want, the more determined you'll be to do the exact opposite. Well, it is a Full Moon, and a lunar eclipse in emotional Cancer, so you're excused! Show them that you're an individual in your own right without going completely overboard about it, because that will cause trouble. Then once you've got all that off your chest you can relax and look forward to a really Happy New Year!
