Not sure of all the details but Yeatman is foolish to even be anywhere near alcohol for a year. He jeapordizes the team and the schools image. A year off might do him some good. Young Golic on the other hand needs to be shown a lesson maybe not as harsh as Will's. I drank in college underage but I wasn't under the microscope like these kids are and I didn't take on the responsibility that they have by taking a scholarship to Notre Dame. Go Irish and cut back on the booze.

I understand that you drink in College but these guys have a responsibility that is unlike the rest of us. They are getting to go to a VERY expensive school that will benefit them beyond football and all they have to do is GET TO PLAY FOOTBALL. I would much rather our kids being busted for Beer rather than, Rape, Drugs, AK-47's, robbery etc, but they need to be dealt with and not with kid gloves. I know a lot of people will say that the avg student at ND would get a fine and that would be the end of it but things aren't supposed to be fair because these kids are getting a free education the avg student is not. I'm not calling for prison for christ sake....I just think this would be a good time to make an example out of them.

As a former football player 1995-98, Graduated in '99. I can emphasis when the freshman. Every second of each day is planned from 8:00am classes, to watching films at 2:30 till it is time for practice. From the 4:15 pre-practice, to the last horn at 8:30. Then shower, go to the dinning hall to eat that nights leftover, and then going to see a Tudor, or go to study hall at the library till 10 or 10:30 I can't remember.
Most Of these freshman have spent the last 2 years being told how great they are. Then reality Hts you like a train, when the same coaches who were your best friend, now they treat you as if you are expendable, when the only plays you are learning are the ones for this weeks opponent.
When we have an away game, the only people who travel are those who are ST and ND team. I am not sure about the circumstances, whether the players did travel, just got back from a 4 hour silent bus ride, so they went to a friends House to blow off steam. Whether you are the QB,Kicker, or running back. You will be scrutinized by the press, fans, students, etc.. So you will always ed be the talk of the room. I hope these young guys see how a small incident turns to a national story.

that is my point, they are under a microscope being a college football player and at Notre Dame it is even greater. Everyone is looking for a player to do ANYTHING wrong because of the schools history of being above the frey. I was at a party when I was 18, had been there maybe 10 minutes and the police came and ticketed everyone for minor consumption or possesion. I hadn't drank or brought booze with me. This was in Indiana. The big difference is that it only reflected on me. These guys know it and have been through the speeches about it. Go Irish.
