"health and safety" reasons? Too many in Centre County, from their former DA on down, are out to make a name for themselves by charging Penn State football players.

Penn State is a terrible school. Anyone can apply and get in if they are foolish enough to pay the tuition. Student Drug addicts - no surprise, student rapists, no surprise. End of story.

Doesn't really matter. If they had illegal drugs then they should be arrested. If not, then they are off the hook. Right now it is illegal to possess marijuana. End of story.

WHY is it illegal? Why do we have a police state pretending it is a "democracy"?

Is the newspaper going to start publishing everybody in the state of PA that is arrested for simple possesion? If so, I think some other news may need to be squeezed out to make room for it all.

Drinking, smoking pot, getting in fights: can you believe what young men are doing these days? When I was in college 20 years ago, we never did these things every single night.

We have a constitutional republic not a "Democracy: A government of the masses, results in mobocracy. Attitude toward property is communistic - negating property rights, result is demogogism, license, agitation, discontent, anarchy." (U.S. Army training manual No. 2000-25, 1928.)
WAIT we do have a Democracy now!!!But are forefathers gave us a constitutional republic!!!!!!!!!!
"Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself. There was never a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. It is vain to say that democracy is less vain, less proud, less selfish, less ambitious, than aristocracy or a monarchy. It is not true, in fact, and nowhere appears in history. Those passions are the same in all men, under all forms of simple government, and when unchecked, produce the same effects of fraud, violence and cruelty." John Quincy Adams

Even football players should be allowed to smoke pot. Pot should be legal. Mexico just legalized possession of small amounts of all drugs. Portugal decriminalized all drugs in 2001 and their experience has been positive. Now if you are caught with a 10 day supply of your drug or less you face an administrative court, not a criminal court, but in practice they are just not arresting people. A group of 10,000 very serious policemen, prosecutors, attorneys and citizens have formed a group to legalize ALL drugs, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (http://leap.cc ) They see what happened when we legalized alcohol in 1932 as a good example of how drug legalization would work. This foolish war on drugs has lasted 37 years and cost us over a TRILLION dollars and we are not an inch closer to stopping drugs. How many millions of Americans are we going to lock up in prison for decades? Mark Montgomery boboberg@nyc.rr.com

Ok. Did they have pot? Is possession of pot illegal? If it is illegal are they then not guilty?

Am I questioning the law? Am I not just pointing out that if there was possession, at this time it is illegal? And, that if they are guilty should they not be prosecuted?

Daily Horoscope for December 3

Scorpio

This is not the easiest day for concentrating on what needs to be done, whether tackling those Christmas cards and letters, writing out a list of jobs, or getting on with other urgent work. Mental activity seems to be blocked, as Mars is slowing and Mercury is under cosmic pressure. Take some time out for meditation, or reflection, and let your subconscious do the work.
