I feel terrible for Brigham Harwell. SC wanted him, but told him he would not be playing DE, his chosen position. UCLA told him he could play DE, so he went to UCLA, where he was switched to DT. That decision appears to have cost him millions of dollars.

Had he listened to Pete Carroll, he probably would have been drafted by now. Unfortunately, Datone Jones, Aaron Hester, Akeem Ayers, and others are going to learn the hard lesson that going to UCLA put them at a disadvantage as they look to maximize their potential on draft day. Brian Price, with his tremendous physical gifts, may overcome this disadvantage, but even he may have cost himself by choosing not to compete at the highest level.

What a shame.

Yeah, over half a decade of consecutive Pac 10 Championships, two NC's, and more BCS bowl victories than anyone else have left us feeling pretty empty.

How have you guys done during that time,'correct' bruin? LOL

No matter how many SUC players get drafted they "STILL" manage to throw in at least one stink bomb game every year.

What was UCLA last year? 4-8 or something close to that? Couldn't keep a QB healthy? When was the last time UCLA went to a BCS bowl?

And in his first year I think I remember Pete Carroll going 6-6 with the previous coach's players.

I thought you'd like that. This season the Rick and Normy show will tell the tale if the Bruin program is in turnaround mode or not.

But tell me the truth... if you were a high school football player who was highly sought after, which school would you want to look at seriously. One that sent 11 to the NFL or one that sent none? Do you want to play with and compete against the best? Or do you just want to play?

Enjoy the moment while you can. UCLA is heading in the right direction. But tell me the truth if you were a high school player who was highly sought after would you like to play football in Westwood or South Central?

I guess that would depend if I wanted to play football on Sundays. This is about "football" right, not geography?

How many Bruins do you expect to be drafted from a 4-8 team? Exactly. When UCLA gets better, that will change. The Bruins are headed in the righ direction. Southern Cal has the cloud of an NCAA investigation hanging over its head. So, yes, it is about georgraphy and football.

Go Bruins!

Baylor went 4-8 and had at least one player drafted...must have been the location right?

Wow, Wow, how long did it take you to dig that one up? Just goes to show you that you need quality players at all positions to be a good team.

BTW, you failed to dig up this little tid-bite about Baylor: Baylor is 56% female, 44% male. Plently of co-eds to choose from. Location, location, location.

Go Bruins!
