Preseason magazines give Michigan State's football team high praise

Two of three college football preview magazines at area bookstores predict a second-place finish for Michigan State in the Big Ten Legends Division this fall.

Preseason magazines give Michigan State's football team high praise. Big deal. The same thing can be said about Notre Dame , USC , Boise State & just about any other luke warm team coming done the pike. The problem , all the hype in the World will not win a national Championship.

Right now I don't believe that there is a Big Ten team in the running for a national championship. In the Big Ten though there is a lot of competition. Each week one team is up to play and the other is falling asleep during the game. If you watch OSU and U of M then the teams are fired up. Michigan vs. Michigan State...another great game. Wisconsin Vs. Michigna State....a great win for Sparty. Ron Zook and the fighting illionii...a great team with weak finishing power in the past but don't coun't them out from kicking your royal dupa on any day of the week. I think the pre season magazines are hedging a little. Go State...Green and White Sparty!

I remember when the Big 10 was the Big 2 and the Little 8 (Michigan and Ohio State). At that time, the schools played one "cupcake" to bring themselves up to real time contact football speed without threatening their chances of competing for a national championship. As of today, MSU started the season playing two teams that aren't even on the radar during national sports broadcasts, proceeded to get drubbed at Notre Dame, and then, resumed their conquest of nobodies. The aggregate record of the three teams the Spartans defeated after today's win loss totals are added is 3 wins and 8 losses.

There isn't a football team in the country that takes their studies as seriously as the entire football team of Michigan State.
They're up until 3:00-4:00 AM grinding away at books and exams.
