AWAYS A BUCKEYE!!!

Meyer has been successful. No doubt about that. At the same time he has had some ted flags pop up big time. He quit in the Gators twice. Working for espn one weekend, the next with rumors of him accepting the coaching job, he lies. The Buckeyes are awaiting more rulings from the NCAA. Meanwhile, the school president and the AD spend 4 million dollars on a coach that has some questionable red flags, discipline problems with his former team 38 off the field arrests. Not to mention the Cam Newton problems while Meyer was his coach. Strange how Meyer wanted to leave after the Newton problems. I hope that l am wrong but l believe this hiring was wrong for all the wrong reasons. Coach Meyer is damaged goods hired to coach a severely damaged football program.

I couldn't agree more.

I still haven't warmed up to Meyer. I haven't cared much for him since the '06-'07 season when Florida played tOSU for the NC. He made some very denigrating remarks about Michigan and the Big10 in his successful attempt to get Florida voted into the title game.

If you remember, tOSU was #1 and Michigan was #2 when they played that last game of the year. Of course, tOSU won, and Michigan dropped to #3 in the polls, while USC rose to #2. At the time Florida was #4. The following week USC lost in a huge upset to UCLA. That left the pollster having to decide between UM or Florida (two one-loss teams) as to which should play tOSU in the NC. The original poll moved Michigan back to #2 and Florida to #3.

Florida still had to play Arkansas in the SEC championship game (which they won), and the real controversy started. Should Florida get its chance, or should Michigan get another shot at tOSU. This would mean the two teams would play a second straight game, this time for the NC. The SEC commisioner and Florida's Meyer screamed and yelled to high heaven that it was unfair, that Michigan had played a weak schedule and had had its chance, and that Florida deserved its shot at tOSU. After much handwringing, the polls were retabulated, and lo and behold, Florida had edged out Michigan by .0101 points. Yeah right...

tOSU wound up losing to Florida 41-14 in the NC, and UM went to the Rose Bowl where they lost to USC 32-18. Interestingly enough, Michigan played Florida the following year where they beat the Gators (and Tebow), scoring 41 points doing so. This was right in the middle of Florida winning two NCs (2006 and 2008). So much for SEC superiority.

Of course, this year we have almost the same situation, but the SEC is now saying it shouldn't matter who played who and when. The object is to get the two best teams in the country to play in the NC. What hypocrites.

Regardless, now we get to watch another 9-6 game between two teams with below average QBs, and great defenses. I would love to have seen Oklahoma St play LSU. I think they would have blown them out.

Let's be honest: Meyer won the first Nat. Ch. with Zook's players! Then he got Teebow who was going to attend UF no matter who the coach was! Charlie Strong joined UF not because of Meyer but because Strong was looking for a way to be a headcoach that SC will not let him be.

The jury is out on Meyer. Having said that, we are using what UF accomplished to grab the headlines and possibly the recruits.

Not convinced by Meyer!

DON'T WATCH THE Nat. Champ.! Don't reward the stupid SEC rematch! There is nothing new to learn from the Sugar bowl (2012)! Whether Alabama can kick or not is not the point.

Don't be so negative. Meyer is the best available coach and tOSU did the right thing hiring him. No matter who would have gotten the job there would be some sort of downside. No one is perfect.

Regardless of the recruits, Meyer coached them to a NC and then did it again with his players. Zook had how many years at Illinois and was unable to do anything with 'his' players.

Is Meyer perfect? No. Am I 100% that this will lead to a string of B10 championships and maybe a NC? No. But I think that Meyer gives us the best chance and that is all anyone can ask for.

The string of B10 Championships is a given. The Buckeyes have dominated this conference for 50 years and will continue to do so, no doubt.
Urban is a winner. He won at BG, he won at Utah, he won at Florida. All lesser programs than OSU. It's a no brainer he will have success at OSU.
As far as winning at Florida goes, you're right, that's not that much to brag about. They had a lot of talent during his tenure and they play in the most over-rated conference in history. You only have 1 or 2 tough games each year in the sec whereas in most other conferences you have to play 4 or 5 tough games each year.(look at bama this year for example. They only have 3 wins against better than 500). This will obviously be Urban's most difficult challenge to date as he will have to prepare a team to play real opponents nearly every week. At the talent rich OSU, he will be up for the challenge. Expect big things in the coming years.

It's a little easier to keep coaches at Ohio St, than it is other teams. There's a reason Tressel never cared to go to the NFL, it's because he had everything he wanted at OSU. As far as recruiting, we will always have that. OSU is in the top 5 for schools with the most players in the NFL. That's a stat even SEC homers can't deny.

We just pickpocketed two more recruits this week, one a Defensive player who committed to PSU, Schutt. The other was a Michigan St recruit DE Pittman. there is an OL that both Notre Dame and LSU are after that is very interested in OSU, named Spence. He would be a great edition to our already stellar recruiting class. GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

As far as the amount of arrested players from florida if you ever look at the public school systems in the state of florida it's a cesspool.
