The results for Guiton might be a little surprising and the spring game is not a guarantee of future success in actual games. But I will say that I left the OSU-Navy game last year really impressed with Guiton.

No, he did not play a single down nor was he the primary back up for TP. However, watching him in pre-game warmups one thing was clear: he can throw the ball. His delivery looked good and his throws were nice tight spirals with a lot of velocity. His arm looked just as good if not better than Pryor's at the time.

This is not to say that he will be the next TP or even the second QB this year. But it seems like he has some potential and might be a surprising find for the Bucks.

Steve in Findlay Tho I have never seen him in person I have gone to the Houston papers last year and I agree with your assessment of Guiton. I am
aware that one spring game does not make an all star but it appears all the qualities are their to
be a good QB. Of course being friends with TP
doesn't hurt at all as football is probably the
main conversational piece.

Lets don't forget about Joe. He's been a good back up and may still be the No. 2 guy. More important, I believe he is the type of guy I'd want on my foot ball team. Guiton is till not tested on how he handles adversity. Or perhaps fame.

On qb back up; probably will not matter much if we land Braxton Miller. Wish Berry could have played, he could be exciting.

Kenny looked great yesterday. But I was really came away impressed at the improvement by Taurian Washington. It looks as if this guys finally gets it and hopefullty he can be a productive #3 for us this year.

For a while there I thought he and Posey had switched numbers!

Agreed. Guiton looks good, but as far as overall improvement, Washington seems like another Drew Carter. Didn't see much of the field until his senior year and ended up making a big impact.

What I saw looked better than some over my past 70 years;
But I'm not ready to roll out any awards.

They looked sluggish, Had "a few" breakouts, Play calling was basic and boring...

Joe Germaine lit up the Spring Game in 1996, and the 2-QB system was back at tOSU. It didn't seem right to sideline a talented Stanley Jackson at the time, but in retro, Joe should've been a 3-year starter.
Of course, Stanley was no TP in any way, shape or form, but it sounds like Kenny has rung the same bell Joe G. did 14 years ago. Look out 2011 (unless TP stays another year).

Guiton, Bauserman, player to be named later...it just doesn't matter. Without Pryor, we don't compete for the B10 title (note...even with Prior, I didn't say Nat'l championship...we may be in the top 3 or 4 when the season starts, but we just aren't going to be Nat'l Championship type of team regardless of who is QB...B10 title...yes...as Pryor can beat most teams by himself, except Purdue..choke, choke, on his own).

Additionally, despite 13 punts, our kicking game stunk. That is a big problem for Tressel Ball. BIG PROBLEM. I could see Tressel taking a different approach if our kicking game remains so poor.

Finally, be prepared to put your head in your lap and to throw your arms up in disgust. Posey has hands of concrete. The guy can get open and can get to the ball...he just can't catch it. There will be at least 1 game (and I hope not 2) that we lose b/c Posey drops a TD pass or a key 3rd down conversion. On the bright side, we are talking about the difference between a 9 win season or a 10 win season. GO BUCKS!

The Buckeye back-up Qbs looked good yesterday in the Spring Football Game . As the Wrs get better and the OL gets better and the Rbs get better the Qbs will get better too ! This looks like a very ,very good football team ... Go Buckeyes !

I think Guiton is ready to step in front of Pryor. Pryor has looked average to bad in more games then he has look above average to good. Guiton looks like somebody that can read a coverage and make a quick decision. Pryor looks dazed and confused at the line of scrimmage. Tresell did everything he could do to cover this weakness. It is time not to hand off the prize of quarterback to Pryor quite yet. Let him work for the position.

Disagree, pryor is the clear starter for osu. Guiton is the clear back up over bauserman. Do I need to send you a copy of the rose bowl dvd to remind you what pryor did in that game? He only threw 12 passes in the game yesterday and he got 108 yds and one td. LOL @ you thinking guiton should replace pryor after a spring game.

This is crazy talk. A kid does decent in a spring game and you are ready to start him over Pryor who dominated the last game he played in. Not to mention, Pryor in the spring game for the short time he was in looked really good. A couple passes right inbetween defenders right on the money to Sanzenbacher that were perfectly thrown balls with tight spirals. Maybe you need to read the article about spring game heroes that normanlly don't translate into the regular season.

Braxton Miller is the absolute truth. He has no weakness on the football field. If he goes anywhere else other than OSU I would be very upset. Tressel will get him hopefully.

Another guy who needs mentioned more is Zach Boren. Since the second half of last year he has really shown me something. That kid is a brute. The hurdle job in the spring game shows how athletic he is and when he catches the ball out of the backfield he is looking to run someone over. What an animal. I love it. Also, I know we've all heard this before, but if there was ever a year to start actually throwing to the TE then this is it. Stoneburner cannot be covered by a LB. Get him the ball early and often. Start him inside and then shift him outside and get a LB on him in space. Total mismatch. I'm sure Saine and Herron would love to see stoneburner do well. If teams have to switch to a nickel to cover him then our running game will be that much better.

As impressed as I was with Guiton, the defense was not allowed to blitz. That will be his big test, live action. He throws a good ball and with some zip. I hope he can be a good backup.
