Wondering the same thing myself. Anybody know? "Personal reasons" in one article. "quaratined for an undisclosed illness" in another. Players are waving his jersey. What's the deal?!?

Actually you do not have right to know even if it is contagious unless you came into contact with someone who was contagious, otherwise it's a private matter between hogan, his family and his doctors. If he chooses to tell his friends and not you then so be it
will be known

On this thread, some folks are likely showing some concern for a "fallen" individual (sick, injured, other?), while others are likely just currious. There's another thread on this site which questions whether or not Bill Stewart is the worst HC in college football. Hold that thought for a moment.

The game against S FL was the 1st I heard of Brandon Hogan's absence. The media made it clear he wasn't playing. They didn't know why, as Mr. Hogan asked Bill Stewart NOT to devulge the reason or circumstances, for which he was unable to play. Not only did Coach Stew comply with this, he complied very well, given none of the team has said anything either.

In retrospect, Mr. Hogan's "condition" is none of our business. If Mr. Hogan decides otherwise, he'll make it our business. More importantly (Remember that thought I asked you to hold?), this is just one more feather to place in Coach Stew's cap. Not only is he willing to protect his players' privacy, apparently he's willing to go to the "Nth" degree to make certain it not only happens, but stays that way. Good job, Coach Stew; good job.

First off this was two months ago...get a life! Brandon is 100% fine. He is attending classes, going to workouts, doing everthing he is supposed to do everyday. People, and people in their family, get sick, bad things happen. A twenty year old college student deserves his privacy. His coaches, and those that matter, know what happened, it is not now nor will it ever be anyone's business. In fact the truth is pretty boring. Just leave the kid alone. Coach Stewart and other WVU coaches showed incredible support and compassion to Brandon by honoring the request for his family's privacy. He will more than ready for WVU football.....he can't wait for Spring!

Well said, D-Y-Double-A-I; well said indeed.

So, Mr. Hogan can't wait for Spring ball. Well, neither can I. Go Mountaineers!!!!!!!

AND, that doesn't include the, at least, four games the rest of the coaching staff will make certain WVU wins; + another bowl win, a top-10 finish... I hope yawl are ready. I know I am. Gooooo MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!!!!

It's funny you mention Fantasy Island, especially given I tend to be one of the more realistic participants on here. In fact, if you have time, run through some of these threads and read some of my posts. I was calling for 10 wins last year, when many were calling for WVU to win the N.C. Not that I'm some sort of pundit, but only being off by one each in the win/loss column isn't all bad.

I also felt that WVU would have a better shot at a N.C. this year than last. That was before things started happening with the O-Line (guys leaving early for the NFL draft) and continued trouble with the defensive 2nd'ary. I'm not at all worried about Jarrett Brown. He'll be just fine.

Sadly, despite solid (improving) recruiting classes 2 years straight, until Coley White or Eugene Smith are established within 2 or 3 years, a shot at the N.C. will not come easily. A string of 10-win seasons, on the other hand, is not at all unreasonable...so long as those Top-40 recruiting class keep coming in. But, that's my take. What's yours?
