You can't run the ball if the other team doesn't respect your passing game.

Juice needs to improve his accuracy in a hurry. If not, it's time for Eddie McGee.

^I think it's been time for McGee for a few weeks. I think Juice has crumbled under the weight of having to be a pure passer instead of an improvisational running QB.

It's a shame to see Illinois regress after accomplishing so much last year. Zook is not proving that he's as good a coach as he is a recruiter. I'd be thrilled with regular 7- or 8-win seasons, but even that looks like a dream. Illinois hasn't had consecutive winning seasons since 1989-1990. I miss Jeff George.

Where are the other offensive linemen from the sophomore and junior classes?

Why are two TRUE freshman starting at tackle?

Are we recruiting a handful of nasty OL from the JUCO ranks to plug these holes for next season?

I think last year we played a little over our heads and I'm not really that surprised about this season. Its not possible to sneak up on people anymore and we're still playing a lot of freshmen in key positions. Sykes is another example to those mentioned in the article. I believe they are going to be good players but like coach said, they're doing freshmen things.

I don't want to get off the Juice bandwagon yet. Unless he's injured and not telling anyone, I think maybe he's just putting too much pressure on himself to overcome things that he can't fix himself. The team has room to grow and, as more of Zook's recruits mature, I think they will continue to get better.

I think we all need to be patient and remember, two years ago we had a total of 4 wins in 2 years.

Bottom line: When I watch the QBs at schools like Texas, Texas Tech, and Mizzou, it magnnifies just how inaccuate Juice is with his short to intermediate passes.

Also, Juice's body language during many games this season has been that of a freshman struggling to find his way, not that of a junior coming off a big bowl game.

Yes, there is plenty of other blame to go around (young O line, young RBs, injuries on the O line, wideouts dropping passes), but the idea of McGee getting some reps shouldn't be out of the question.
