Paul Konerko wouldn't mind reducing the number of interleague games the White Sox play each season, with one caveat.

Cub fan for sixty years, yes been through a lot. Cubs will still win the division, but time for change. Trade Soriano to Cleveland for De Rossa. De Rossa goes to 3rd. Fox and Micah play left field. Fukadoem gets till all star game and then sits. Play the new kid in center. Bradley only plays agaisnt left handers. Hoffpauer plays aginst righties. Pinella get with it. He is now performing just like Baker, he was hired for his fireness. it is gone. How can Soriano get doubled off first yesterday whent he play is in front of him. He is lazy. Why would a player hitting 224 with 14 HR belong on a all star game, let alone even starting.

So, I guess we can add Paul Konerko to the list of people who don't want interleague play.

Great idea Larry. Maybe DeRosa can pitch, play 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, LF, CF, RF and catch his own pitches.

Congrats to Mitchell, named the most outstanding player in the CWS. Thumbs down to MG for having not mentioned it yet.

All your observations I think are spot on...except the flubs winning the division. On what planet? You and the rest of the flubs fans need to come back down to earth.

How have the Sox won the World Series in "last few years" ?
This is the problem with the White Sox and will be until they dump their old players and focus on Ramirez, Quentin, Beckham and Getz as their core. They are still living in 2005, nearly 5 years ago, not "a few years" ago as Konerko says.
And you could say the Cubs are the same--they too need to focus on building the team around Ramirez (if/when he comes back), Theriot, Fontenot, Fox and Hoff. Maybe Randy Wells, Sean Marshall, Samardizja and Zambrano as your core pitchers. If Blanco continues to make strides you could include him too. The rest need to be dumped. Get something for Lee while he is hot. Give Soriano to an AL contender that desperately needs a DH and pick up a few years of his contract. That's a lot of $$ for the Cubs to eat, but sometimes you need to accept the mistakes that you made.

Ah yes 2005, I remember like it was just yesterday. How I long for simpler times, when gasoline was only $2.50 instead of $3.00, when you could buy a 2 liter of soda for $1.19 instead of $1.29....

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Sagittarius

You're in a strange mood, Sagittarius. You're feeling impatient and cross, and nothing is quite right. No wonder, with Mercury and Mars retrograde, under a Full Moon lunar eclipse! But is it necessary to be quite so contrary, so determined to do the opposite of what's expected of you? Try to sort out the problem sooner rather than later, then do something energetic and therapeutic so you can burn off your nervous energy. Then you're all set for a great New Year's Eve!
