Not a bad article for Teddy. He missed some obvious points but came close enough.

However, again with the anonymous quotes. This is the third straight Greenstein Notre Dame article where Teddy can't resist going to these quotes. This is cheap and lazy journalism that really should be left to the bloggers.

".....And that Weis' best two recruiters, according to CSTV analyst Tom Lemming, are receivers coach Rob Ianello and special-teams coordinator Brian Polian...."

Modestly, the Notre Dame shill Lemming left himself off this list.

I agree that player development is not a strength of Weis but Sam Young is a Star and future 1st day NFL draft pick by almost any measure.

Matt Carufel, Zach Frazer, Richard Jackson, Demetrius Jones, and Konrad Reuland will never be stars at Notre Dame because they don't attend Notre Dame, they all transfered.

Rumor out of Boston has it that the Jesuits declared yesterday a Holy Day. Think it has anything to do with N.D. retaining Coach Weis?

ND should dump the pro offense being run, and run plays where they don't hand off 7 yards deep in the backfield with no faking. Run quick openers, traps, misdirection plays, quick pitches, play action Passes and others in which the offensive lineman don't have to sustain blocks for 3 or maore seconds. We need coaches who can teach the offensive linemen how to block.

More horrid writing. How many of the class of '06 are stars? Let's see here: Darrin Walls would be, except he's not in school right now. Stewart is hurt. Young and Olsen are contributing starters on a line that's mis-managed - this has nothing to do with development - it has to do with scheme. Aldridge was hurt 2 years ago and has never been the same. Everyone else TRANSFERRED. You guys are the worst, absolute worst, writers in history. Please do us a favor and get another job.

Mr. Greenstein,

Are you upset that ND didn't take your suggestion that they should can Weis? What makes you think that they would listen to your suggestions now as to how the problems should be fixed?

Again you provide superficial reporting, anonymous sources and slanting of facts to support your original thought of how it should be corrected. Have you given any thought that there wasn't a good candidate for replacement, or the fact that Swarbrick has been on the job for 4 months?

Maybe the AD felt that a little research was needed before the next coach is chosen, but since research is a foreign subject to the Chicago Blogune, I am sure you wouldn't understand.

Does the reporter understand the game? assistant coaces develop talent. They work with players daily to improve stance, technique. No one, Not Pet Carroll, not Jim Tressel, not even JoPa execute that one. They surround themselves with assistants who can.If you want to know why Penn State is linebacker U. don't look to JoPa, look to Bradley and Vanderliner. Bradley has been with PSU for 30 years.
Also, on the outside looking into ND, seems to me that at least one other freshman has made an impact: Robert Blanton. The only INT in the USC game went to him. This tells me the reporter really is not doing much research on his topic.
Think this one author I will avoid in future.

So you care this much to ND. Then why not go to South Bend huh? write an article there and no one reads there.
You are desperate to have ND win? it is like dog chasing his own tail... ND will be loser more you try it aint going to work.
So next year, I will be here to make sure Pat Fitz is not given any shaft or potty shot. HE is NW (Blood and soul) Ok? got that..NW will be winning more games. Hope it does not make you lose your sleep. Do not write any article on NW or Pat FItz.

I can't understand why the coaching staff can't recognize that Jimmy Clausen is not a very good quarterback. He does not read the coverages. He has his mind made up which receiver he is throwing to before the play starts. That is why he is constantly throwing into double or triple coverage. Also, he always wants the big play and forces the long thows rather than dumping off to the shorter throws. Could this be because he is being coached by the biggest bust in ND quarterback history (Ron Powlus)!!
