I am a huge ND fan but speak the truth unlike some homer ND fans. My question is how come schools like Florida, LSU, Oklahoma, Auburn, etc never have down years like the one Notre Dame is having. To me, Charlie isnt the recruiter people claim him to be and was just good at New England due to having Tom Brady and Bellichick to hide behind. Notre Dame should at least be competitive if Charlie is such a great recruiter. I dont see this team being any better next year. ND has turned into a joke of a program and cant play with the big boys which sums up why they cant win a bowl game. LSU made them look like a high school team last year.

How impressive, he is responsible for 4 of Notre Dame's 7 touchdowns this year...excellent.

Finally! Was it that hard to see that the players actually play for Sharpley?

It's about time. Clausen just doesn't have the arm strength or mobility to ever be a good college QB. He's terrible.

I am begining to think that Weis doesn't have a clue how to coach college players or how to deal with his own recuits. The last time ND tried a pro coach was 1959-1962 and it did not work then either.

Didn't seem that the team had a problem playing with Jimmy at UCLA.

Yea, the offense was great in that game...Oh wait, the defense scored as many points as the offense! Clausen had 84 yards passing that game!!!

The last time ND tried a pro coach was Lou Holtz and, that worked out pretty good.

After hours of tape, Charlie figured out what everyone else know. Wow. For the folks who think the ND AD needs to go the way of the Nebraska AD, look at
http://www.packers.com/team/coaches/clements_...

ND passed over Clements for Davie, Ty, O'Leary and Weis. In fact Clements was the favorite until the Weis hire. If you think Charlie just needs a few more years, put your Cubs cap on and skip the above. If you are worried the damage may take years to be repaired, look above and wonder how the AD thinks he knows more thatn Ara, Montana, etc. who kept pusing for Clements. Amazing that ND keeps falling and the faithful blame everyone but the 3rd year coach.

With Notre Dame losing record, and with the small businesses that are losing money in South Bend. Why is it that no one is screaming for Weis' job the same way they are screaming for Sampsons job. This is one of the worst seasons in school history and he still gets support. Willingham would have never lead Notre Dame down this losing road

Was it not Tyrone Willingham who was at the helm in 2003 after a 10-3 season. He finished that year at 5-6. Then it was Tyrone again who was 6-5 in 2004.

My point is Charlie has had one bad year out of 3. If next year is the same as this, then we obviously know he wasn't the answer.

??????????

Lou Holtz had major college head coaching experience at NC STATE,MINNESOTA, and Arkansas before going to ND.
Lets also add the fact that he was a head coach in the NFL, something Weis was not.

I dont see Tom Moore in line for the USC job anytime soon.
