How is this even considered news? This is a feeble attempt at a smear campaign at best. PATHETIC!

This is a load of BS. Show me a college kid who hasn't had a couple beers, and I'll show you a mormon. Other than that, I think 99.9% of kids have had a few beers before 21.

So this:

"The office of Residence Life will investigate possible violations of university policies when it is made aware of them, such as in this case,"

equals this...

"Irish QB Jimmy Clausen and at least two teammates face alcohol-use investigation"

Jumping the gun slightly, eh? Maybe the copy editor should take a refresher on defamation...

Look out, the Notre Dame apologists are out in force. Yeah, lots of college kids do this sort of thing, but don't we keep hearing how Notre Dame has better college kids than others?

dear brain hamiltion,
Your an idiot. OH MY GOD college kids around beer. First pic they are not drinking beer and have no beer in any of their hands. Second pic you see the same. Your a hack writer looking for a promotion by writing this garbage. If I ever come to chicago I will poop on the hood of your car.

God, does the administration at ND need to lighten up and get the sticks removed from their sphincters. Wow. College students attending a party where there is beer (but are not shown actually drinking it). Alert the media.
If these kids are given the McAlarney treatment, after schools like Florida reinstated a player who shot off an AK-47, and Michigan reinstates a player caught with a blood alcohol level over three times the legal limit, they can forget my donor check.

Being better than most students does not mean they don't have a social life. and in college, social life = beer for most.

You're a Notre Dame Quaterback. You are supposed to be smart. Do what you got to do, but don't be dumb enough to get caught. I thought that Notre Dame held players and students at a higher academic standard.

The only thing worse than a guy writing an article about a kid drinking beer in college is a guy writing an article about a guy writing an article about a kid drinking beer in college. Hopefully Rich Rodriguez will offend another UM alum and take the legs out of this story.

Hello,
As a undergrad at ND I think this is totally retarded. I didn't drink until I was 21, but there were plenty of times when I was around alcohol. If they try to pin this on jimmy I will gladly turn myself in with similar photos of me around alcohol as a protest to demonstrate how ridiculous this is.

You're a hack, get a life. College football players drink....its apart of the college experience. This is not news. Go cover an SEC school where there is real news of players raping and assaulting people.

I drank in college. I am a gold medalist in beer olympics at IU. People still talk about how cool I was. Nothing wrong here other than stupid college policies and a writer who gets his info off of internet, nice investigative journalism. Go Irish. Go Cubs. Props to my cousins.

ok guys, lay off Hamilton. Bottom line here is this. Clausen rolled into town in a stretch Hummer, showing off is high school state championship bling, and made his college announcement at the College Football Hall of Fame. ND is the most recognizable school in america and you are its starting QB. Show some better judgement. He is always a sucker for attention, and this appears no different. I know, we all drank underage, but how many of us were the ND QB? Easy guys, I didn't ask how many of us COULD be the ND QB, I would assume that is a much higher number. Look, a little more is expected of a guy in his position. By the way, what kind of getup is that kid wearing? really? I have played beer pong, we had teams, but c'mon, he looks like an off duty circus clown. On Wisconsin!!!!

The ND football team drinks? That's it - I'm switching my focus over to the badminton team. They are a cleaner group.
What a joke!
I hope he at least got loaded and had a good time.

I agree that this article is lame, but does anyone else out there think Clausen is the biggest punk in college football? Sharpley is clearly the better athlete (Michigan HS athlete of the year and led the ND baseball team in home runs last season), a much smarter kid and was the QB all the players wanted in the game.

Clausen is supposedly one of the top quarterbacks in the country? Give me a break. He's the product of a carefully crafted marketing campaign and the only reason he got back in the starting line up last year is because his dad has Charlie by the balls. He's so dumb that Weis can only use about 15% of the playbook he did with Quinn.

Lastly, will someone please give this kid a pair of buzzers to get rid of that ridiculous dew. You're supposed to be a football player at ND, not the lead singer for an 90's punk band.

My kid who is a 3.8 gpa student with a resume that shines didn't get into ND- she isn;t out doing this on Saturday night I can tell you that. Glad to see that ND has no room for a kid like that and has plenty of room for a kid like Jimmy. Dane Crist get ready to be under center soon.

I thought Charlie Weis didn't have "hoodlums & thugs" on his team? Because if he did, he could "win tomorrow" right?

Few things have been more enjoyable than watching the collapse of this program.
