The Gophers will easily win this game, despite having that blowhard Brewster doing the coaching.

Nothing will be easy for the Gophers...looking at their schedule they will finish around 4-8 this year. Middle Tennessee will be a tossup...I hope the Gophers aren't really putting their game plan out to the media like this article suggests, giving the opponent bulletin board material.

"We definitely want to get up on him, hitting him in his face a few times and see if he can take it..."

Aren't hits to the face considered a 15 yard penalty for cheap shot?? Oh ya, forgot who we are talking about here--Brewster's Felon Thugs.....

My God, this rabble talks like they are taking on USC this weekend! Wow..just wow, big boy..wait a couple weeks before you start spewing the big talk bravado, ok?? You are playing a pissant, mid-major without their star! You are not good even if you win by 3 TDs. Are we clear, hard case?

Brewster's first full recruiting class: Redshirt sophomores. Rebuilding takes time. Gophers finally have solid two-deeps so that they can withstand some injuries come November. Expect pressure on the new quarterback. Preparing for a new quarterback with no film can be difficult. Middle Tennessee is more than one player and they've beaten BCS teams the last few years. Minnesota has struggled the last three openers (OT loss, last minute win, OT win).

I hope you are wrong, but I can't disagree with your 4-8. I don't see any road victory on the schedule, except maybe the first game. With the turnover of the defense(This might be a good thing though), and the lack of production from any of the skill players on offense and a weak offensive line, 2-10 or 3-9 maybe more realistic yet.

I think it is very rewarding that the goofer fans feel secure enough to talk smack vs. a lowly mid-major, non-BCS school from a 3rd rate conference who just lost their best player for the game! Go get'em, gooferholers!!!!!!!!!

I use to agree that building takes time, but there are lots of coaches that do it in three years or less: Lou Holtz at U of M, Les Miles at LSU, Bo Pelini at NU, Nick Saban at Alabama. Granted these are examples of some high profile schools, but if Brewster was worth his weight he could coach any kids to win, not just his recruits. The other thing that bothers me is the high turnover rate of assistants. Sorry, but I see 5 wins this year and Brewster out of a job.

So far Coach Brewster has been all talk and no play. This has to be the year his Gophers perform, otherwise I think he is done. I have to agree with the other posters here, I think their record is 4-8. Love to see them do better though, but they have a pretty tought schedule. Somehow, I think Politically Correct A.D. Joel Matturri will keep Brewster around for a year or two more.

Hmmm let me guess, Iowa fan? Yeah because no Iowa players ever get in trouble...But I'm sure you think Northern Iowa could beat Middle Tennessee State, because they are they are "the best IAA program ever" which Iowa should have lost to last year. Oh and I forgot that Iowa plays middle of the road Pac-10 team Arizona, which according to Iowa fans is comparable to playing USC or Texas. HA! Have fun going 7-5 this year.

Agreed, Gophs are probably a 4-8 team. An entirely new defensive front and their schedule does not an easy season make. 6-6 would be incredible this year.

And Middle Tennessee and Northern Illinois are really not pushovers. Mid Tenn won a bowl game last year - Sports Illustrated thinks predicts them at 11-1 this year. Northern Illinois is picked to win the MAC.

nah, he's just a pathetic little troll is all. He posts the same line of BS under several different monikers, usually "pantherhawk". He's Clayborn's very own Monica Lewinsky. He does at least serve as a constant reminder of the importance of the work of Dr. Kevorkian.

thank you for once again demonstrating you complete and utter idiocy. The towns listed are based on the location of the internet portal that you are using. My internet provider is in California. I'm in Minnesota. You really need to quit while you are behind you pathetic little twit.

Yep i agree. But if the gophers have enough under the radar players they can probably squeeze out 5-7. But for me its 4-8. Beware for some upsets this year because the gophers are good at upsetting.
