Of course Boise State is number 1 in the WAC! They are by far the best team in the league.
Them being in the WAC is the reason the nation doesnt take them seriously! They beat on lesser opponents all year and then they are BCS busters. If Boise State was as bad as they claimed they are they would go to a real league and proove theirselves.

The Broncos do not make the decision on what division they play in.
The Broncos are that good, Boise State finished last season with a 14-0 record, winning the WAC regular season title with a perfect 8-0 mark for the sixth time since 2002. Not too many teams can match that record in any division.

Just like Michael Phellps swimming accomplishment of 8 gold medals in 1 olympic. Some teams and athletics are amazing in their abilities.

It is too bad the politics have to be in play.

I can think of 20 or 30 teams who can come into the WAC and run the table!! THe WAC is weak! And teams have a say to an extent for what division they play in/ Put the Broncos in the PAC 10 OR BIG 12, the SEC or the ACC and they will not be that dominate, yes they will win some and maybe even be competitive on a regular basis but bottom line they scream for their due but dont deserve squat untul they play with the big boys week in and week out.

But Boise state has to be invited into another conference. And if you were in a power conference would you really leave to join the WAC? Did you not watch the bowl games in January and last year. Boise state is very competitive against so called power schools. That could be why they don't get invited to other conferences and why some of these so called power schools wont play them during the non-conference schedule.

Bosie State didnt leave the WAC because its easy for them to pad their record. Yes they do compete with the power schools in bowl games. But thats one game. Can they keep it up when they play Florida one week, Alabama the next? Beating up on the like os NM State and Louisana State, and San Jose State week in and week out is not the same. Heck for NM State, if they win 3 games a year its like winning the championship!
I know a powerhouse school isnt going to the WAC. I was trying to make a point. Heck the team that finishes dead last in BCS conferences would run all over the WAC. Thats my point. Until Bosie State goes to a tougher conference they need to shut their mouths about not being recongnized. They dont deserve to play BCS Bowl games because their schedule is one of the weakest in the nation! I would be willing to beat there are several high schools in the country that could run the table in the WAC!

Florida refuses to play them! Also, these so called power schools with a few exceptions play in weak conferences as well. Just to give you and example, name four BCS bowl teams out of the PAC-10 last year, or the ACC, Big ten? You can't because all of these conferences only have one maybe two power houses year in and out. The exceptions might be the Big 12 and the SEC. Look at how many "patsy" games Florida and many other big name schools play. So yes I think Boise State could run with any of these schools and conferences week in and week out

All powerhouse shcools play "patsy" games. I understand that. You are still not getting my point. Until Boise State leaves the WAC for a stronger conference they will not get the recongnition they think they deserve. They may be able to play run with the big dogs week after week, but they need to prove it.
Oh by the way Boise State would win maybe 3 no more than 4 conference games a year if they played in the ACC, SEC, PAC 10, Big 10, Big 12. They have great offenses but zero defense, Florida would score 70 points on them, Alabama would score 50 or 60 and both those schools have the defense to shut Boise State down. Yes Florida has refused to play them because Boise State would be a waste of their time!

So why does Florida play less talented schools than Boise State? I get your point about them leaving the WAC, but there are only 2 conferences that would realistically make sense for them to join, the Big 12 or the PAC 10 and neither one invited them. I wonder why?

Florida does NOT play less talented schools. Even their no coference scedule, outside their first game where they play a team they usually beat by 60 or 70, they play some tough schools. Boise State just by being in the WAC as one of the cushiest scedules out there. 14-0 in the WAC is not impressive. As to why the PAC 10 or Big 12 didnt invite them I have no idea. I know Boise State homer will say its because they fear them. My guess would be its all about the money. The Big 12 or PAC 10 stand to make more money if they invite other schools in. Boise State is a popular school, but outside the Northwest they may not have much appeal. Trust me though. If Boise State joined the PAC 10 they wouldnt see a BCS bowl for years. PAC 10 is a tough conference. USC, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington. ASU, and UA have had some great teams. Yes Boise State did beat Oregon last year I believe, but could they play Oregon, then travel to USC then turn around and play ASU, then go to UCLA, and keep it up. I doubt it. Beating Oklahoma a few years ago in the Fiesta Bowl was a great accomplishment, but look at who the Sooners played all year compared to who the Broncos didnt play. Come on Sooners play Texas, Nebraska, Texas Tech, too name a few. The Broncos play NM State, Louisana State, San Jose State. Boise State didnt even deserve to be there!

Boise has proven that they can play and win big games. Consistantly? I don't know, honestly. I love their offense though.

Boise won't finish undefeated this year nor would they ran the WAC too. So much for the last hurrah for Boise.

After the first game with Tech, you'll get injuries and you'll never recover from that first game loss.

You've been good because you kept your injuries to a minimum. This year will be different when Boise gets to the injury bug that teams in the WAC suffers because they play good teams early.

Like Fresno plays good teams like Cincinnati, Mississippi, and Illinois, and their good players gets injured and don't play the rest of the year.

So goes with Nevada too, who plays California, BYU and Colorado State.

Hawaii plays USC, Army and Colorado early and they will be banged up by the time WAC play begins.

Boise will suffer that this year with Tech, Wyoming and Oregon State.

So bye bye to an undefeated season and losses in the WAC will occur.

I agree they are talented on the offensive side of the ball. But a good litmus test is where are they in the NFL? I dont know of anyone from Boise State that is much more than a blimp on the NFL map. Scouts know that Boise State is no more than a great system in a weak conference. Many of their starter would be bench warmers on schools like Florida, Oregon, USC, and Alabama. If even on the team!

Boise is fun to watch but I wish they would have held out and joined the Big 12 after Colorado left. Their move to MWC seems like a lateral move to me pretty much. Good luck to the Broncos, though. I hope they make the Fiesta again and put on a good show!

20/20 hindsight.

You're absolutely right. But then again, the big twelve could have take BYU or TCU. TCU would be a lot better choise because they're from Texas.

At least Boise can be happy none of those good programs didn't ditch MWC.
