But, fair warning: Don't order the fries topped with chile con queso at Kiki's restaurant in Central El Paso. If you do, you'll find a small slice of heaven and explosive DIARRHEA soon after.

Oklahoma people are essentially northern texans (except for the GREAT Cherokees over in Tahlequah, where they make the best buffalo burgers in the country).

So their anti-El Paso hatred, sarcasm, arrogance, and racism is just endemic of texonio-taxonomy and toxology.

I lived in "mommy tete texas," stationed in San and Toenail, and the mistake of grad school in Aw-stink, and it really, really does take a a kettle to call a pot black, because those sweaty, down-river, former slave-driving, Mexican-killing, swill-drinking hick towns have nothing on the high desert Mountain Pass of the Great River of the North.

Jay makes some good points but let's be real:
There are MANY areas where he should not go late at night.

I've lived here for the past 8 years, and I have to say, although there are places in El Paso I wouldn't be caught after dark, I feel very safe here. Being from Tucson, AZ's southside, I know what a "rougher" part of town is. Most of the anti-El Paso sentiment is due to ignorance, it does have a some racial roots. I know lots of good people from Oklahoma, Oregon, California, so you can't say its entirely racial. We have some reverse racism here in El Paso too. I think people just use the violence in Juarez as an excuse to not visit this beatiful city. It does somewhat remind me of a small town, and the people here are definately friendlier than the "snowbirds" that visit Tucson half the year. I say let them stay in OK. More great weather and wonderful people for me.

Just stay out of Juarez......Sun Bowl is great for these teams.....and EPT is giving this way too much attention, it was an online poll about El Paso and you know the results are tainted. They will come and enjoys the city, the food, the hospitality and the football.....EPT trying to start something that isnt there....and you wonder why the rest of the state doesnt realize EL Paso is in Texas....Ya Basta!

The only thing OU should worry about is the large amount of Texas fans that reside in El Paso.

I grew up in El Paso and am currently a Senior at the University of Texas. In addition to the National Championship game, I'll also be at the Sun Bowl wearing Burnt Orange. So what if an OU loss makes the Big 12 look weak? OU Sucks. I'd love to finish my college career with a 4-0 bowl record by UT and a 0-4 record by OU.
