Latest Bruins defeat 'pathetic'

Step by step, Ricky Marvray spelled it all out. "At this point, I'm clueless on everything," the UCLA redshirt freshman wide receiver said walking off the Autzen Stadium field. Full Story

At least UCLA kept the penalties down and played a clean game. I think the outcome would have been much different had Prince been playing.

I understand the team is very young but that excuse is old. Whatever the problems are it has become very clear that UCLA can no longer compete at a level acceptable in the PAC 10. It may be time to move to a lower quality conference and at least be in the game. I used to think to myself I hope UCLA can win today. Now I catch myself thinking I hope these kids can at least compete and look like they belong on the same field as the opposing team. Over and over again they fall apart. PATHETIC doesn't even begin to describe the situation. There was one positive observation. Unlike most of the team, Richard Brehaut played hard till the end. Good for him. He'll probably transfer.

Hey, Rob... we might become an independant program because we suck in all other sports besides the one program ( football ) where got caught cheating. Fight On!

YOU have to be kidding me. You can't pass the Ducks off as "trickier." That's an adjective to be saved for Boise State. Oregon shoved the run and the pass down UCLA's throat - nothing tricky, just a simple zone-read run-pass approach.

And if I were AD at UCLA and saw my head coach look as stunned, clueless, shell-shocked as Coach Neuheisel was on national TV, standing in front of his players on the sideline, he would be on the street today. That was ridiculous. He is not the leader that the hype has always said he is. UCLA needs an innovator to take the helm - one that knows how to build player esteem and ENTHUSIASM - and swagger.

For your information, I was not stunned, clueless, or shell-shocked last night. I ate a couple of bean burritos before the game at a Taco Hell (checking out future prospects -- jobwise) and had gas all night long. That's all. Don't read more into it than that. Besides, there is always next year.

Coach NeuWeasel is 100% to blame for this uncompetitive mess we see on the field. No wonder the PAC-X gets no respect, Bruin football is an embarassement to the whole West Coast. Just eliminate the program so we dont have to go through this week.......

On the second drive of the game, UCLA had a 3rd and one at Oregon 45. Norm Chow calls a run play to the right side. The Quarterback in the pistol offense is 5 yards behind the center. By the time the back gets the ball, the defense has blown through the line and hits the back behind the sticks.

I only mention this because it was this very play that Lendale White got stopped against Texas in the 2005 National Title game. It makes no sense whe you have a quarterback that is 6'3 and as strong as Brehaut not just to sneak it.

Both that play last night, and play against Texas came out of the Norm Chow play book.

The game has passed Norm by.

Pathetic is the exact right term to describe last night's game and the state of UCLA football for since the 1999 season.

The bottom line is that UCLA stinks and I mean REALLY stinks. Both Chow and Bulloch need to be sent packing after the season is over. Bulloch doesn't have a clue as to what he is doing and Chow is past his prime and probably doesn't care any longer.

Neuweasel? He is recruiting well, judging by the rankings of the last 3 recruiting classes, but it is not translating to success on the field.

I used to be a big UCLA football fan but now I basically couldn't care less how they do. UCLA does not put a good product on the field so it is hard to get enthused about supporting them.

To all you SC fans out there -- yes, we know that SC will smack the Bruins around really good when they play in a little over a month. Actually, I am looking forward to the SC-Oregon game a week from Saturday. With SC's defensive effort against Cal las week and their potent offense, I could see the Trojies making a game of it. We'll see.
