Injuries happen to every team. They happened last year, and they'll happen next year. Thats no excuse for Lavon Ponder running away from Christian Ponder rather than tackling him. No excuse for Leonard Hankerson doing his best impression of Lance Leggett. No excuse for Sam Shields to wander aimlessly out onto the field into a formation he had no business being in. Somebody wake this freakin program up. This is getting disgusting. I'm tired of these cry-baby excuses and whining about teams running up the score on us. Play some freakin Canes football!!

I agree 100% with you Sam. I remmember when the canes would reload now they call this crap rebuild!! All these F'n losses are BS!! We cant play in the ACC!! 12 of the last 14 losses!! What a freaking embarrasment for the old school canes! This teams motto in the preaseason was no excuses but thats all I hear!! Randy you better tighten this ship or your butt will be toast!!

Great posts! Less excuses, more execution! There is no reason why a FSU team scores 24 points in a half on Miami's defense(or lack there of). There's no reason why a Miami offense scores only 3 points in a half, on anyone! I'm all for giving Randy time, but we need to see some improvements from week to week

No! The hurricanes are not back. They will probably lose another game today. It's all about the "Who"! They are the fourth best team in the state and will be for many more years. Coach Sharon is the town crier and can't win the big game!!! He needs to clean up his resume.

Hey Boca we already have a crier in Gainesville stupid. if any of the rest of you knew what you were talking about you would realize the Coker regime did a very poor revruiting job while he was in charge. Now we are paying the price. give Shannon time and he has a right to make excuses right now. The next 2 years are critical for his well being as the HC. The talent is coming in so now he has no excuses not to coach them up. Myer is the only crier in this state and a first class jerk.

hey guess what? The canes AINT back. Turns out UF isn't that good & neither is UM. As long as Randy Shannon remains head coach of the Canes they will be mired in mediocrity. Long live Shannon, champion of the moral victory. Sad..

I totally agree with you about the "Urban Crier", as far as the Canes, to me, the Florida and North Carolina games, the Canes could have won. I think those games came down to coaching, especially the Florida State game. Like I said before, I'm willing to give Randy another 2 years, but the progress must be made during the season, so far, the Canes only compete in 1 half, except for the Florida game. This team must finish all quarters.

At least Shannon isn't mad at the fans for demanding more.

Contrast that with the article written by Bianchi earlier this week blaming UF's fan for expecting too much out of the team. The article was complete with quotes from cry baby Spurrier himself talking about how the fans put too much pressure on the team to win.

Never, ever has there been a bigger group of whining sissies than UF coaches and all of their apologists.

Joke of a team, joke of a program, joke fans....any recruit that would even think about going there is a fool.....head to UF....or even USF, FSU, or UCF....all better options

The third sentence of this article is absolutley embarrassing if your a Cane fan.

Even more emabarrasing because cane fans talk about how bad the Gators are.

"While he refuses to make excuses, Shannon points out the rash of injuries" Sounds like excuses to me. All teams have injuries to deal with.

I fail to see how a loss to anyone in which you only score 3 points is a plus. Fools gold???? This team still stinks. No leadership; horrendous, bargain basement coaching staff. Maybe when they get out from under the 2 million they give away each year to ex- "coach" Caca thanks to Tubby [Where's the Buffet] Dee things will begin to improve. They have a good chance of losing again today. Then they'll know how far they haven't come.

Gator Alum get your chest out after 20 yrs of having your asses kicked by that little private school in Coral Gables. FSU clown you don't have one freakn thing to say about any school with that old bag of wind looking like an idiot on the sidelines and YES you should have lost last Saturday.

Since when is losing 26-3 a good showing? I see them maybe winning one more game this season.

I like Shannon but his time is running out unless things change quickly. There's absolutely no reason for them to have lost the past two games.

The Canes downfall just proves one thing, "The Canes chickens (trash talk, NCAA violations, etc.) are coming home to roost!"

Shannon has brought in a lot of sought after recruits and it has buoyed the hopes of a lot of UM fans. I notice one thing; a disproportionate amount of these recruits are skill position players and speed guys with not enough emphasis being put on recruiting offensive and defensive lineman. The trenches; and that is where we are losing a lot of our battles. Yeah yeah marcus Forston I know, but he is ONE GUY. Put more emphasis on O & D lineman and a few "smart" linebackers. Speed is great but it's scissors rock and paper so to speak. You have all speed - power running teams are gonna
push us around and that is just what hapened against North Carolina. They pushed our whole D right into the end zone.
