Ponder was drafted too high at #12. At most he's a second round pick.

If the Vikings would not have drafted him at 12 then Miami would have at 15, at worst Seattle takes him at 25th. Don't believe everything that Mel Kiper says. Ponder is the most NFL ready QB this year, and has as good of a chance as any of this years QB's as being successful in the NFL.

I agree. Most of what a QB does is determined by the supporting cast. Washington tried to trade back to get Ponder later to make drafting him more acceptable to their base..and they lost him. Same thing would have happened to the Vikes.

I agree--his arm simply isn't good enough to allow him to ever develop into a franchise QB. If they're lucky he'll become just a solid game manager QB. Not something you blow a 12th pick on.

I've heard rumblings Miami might trade a first round pick next year for a second round pick this year in order to draft one of the remaining QBs. Miami should draft McElroy in the 4th round.
He's extremely under rated.
