I think that they are both worthy of at least a mention.

That's some more BS from the state of Ohio (BS capital of the US), Arkansas lost two games last season without Davis those being to Alabama and LSU...Davis is back with the rest of the returning starters on both sides of the line. Arkansas will be better than last season, much to the dismay of dumbazz O-state fans.

The coaching loss hurt them, They were without a doubt the best team in the SEC this coming season before it. They still are the most talented. Do you not keep up with college football? Your statement is illogical to say the least. They usually own LSU, yes even in LSU Championship season. So I don't see them having a problem there, who are the other two teams that are better in their half of the SEC?

Lsu and Alabama. And the coaching change, along with an average defense and tough schedule will allow at least one other team to leap frog them in their division. Probally Auburn. And I promise you I keep up with college football more than most people you see here. Check the archives of Bowl predictions the last few years and see!

I only thought this before but now I know you are the leading breeze head in that state...returning starters have EVERYTHING to do with how good a team will be, and O-state getting drummed by Michigan this season aint out of the question either hehehe. But let's hear what Mr. college football has to say since by your comment that YOU follow and know more about the sport than anyone else....but please keep the air head statements to a minimum.

AND that is why the USC Trojans will be this years National Champions. MB7 returning for his fourth year, makes him the elder statesman of all "talented", "NFL-caliber" in all of college football. Add returning stars at WR in Woods and Lee, and now add Silas Redd (from Penn St) all there to support MB7! All four may be first rounders in the draft next year!!! So forget about it... Your

What do you think of the notion that having all that support may work against MB7 for the Heisman? They used it against him last year (remember Shaw's comments) and I foresee many of the SEC homers using it as an excuse to vote for someone within the SEC vs Barkley. Then there's also that anti-CL-effin-K sentiment that will come into play as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see him not win based on all this. He could have the greatest season ever, and they would still somehow find a way to rob him.

I have a different take, I think he could have a heisman worthy season and not win. It's the Peyton Manning effect, he's the front runner from the get go and they will be looking for reason to not give it to him rather than for reasons to give it to him. More time to be picked apart and analyzed.

I think your takes pans out to a similar parallel to what CPEM says. We already know that the East Coast bias will be in play and that the Trojans will have to have one of their "Pete Carroll Dominating Type Year" to simply overwhelm the media. And I DO think that will happen this season. Too many seasoned, talented athletics on offense!!!

I don't think there is an east coast bias at all, I think it could be just what I said. Besides, if there was an east coast bias, there is no way on earth that Leihart would have won it.

There has and ALWAYS will be an East Coast bias. Those media fools will never stay up to watch games that start 10:30pm their time! LOL
USC was so dominant that we earned the respect during Carrolls years which is why I am sure why Leinhart received the award. But hell, anyone of these Leinhart years could be Heisman stat material!

2004 412 269 65.3 3,322 33 6 156.5

I have always said he was a product of a good system. Not saying he wasn't decent or anything but his numbers are inflated because of the talent around him. It happens all the time, it was that way with Bama's heisman, his back up was just as good that same year so Ingram wasn't really anything special. If he was, then Richardson should have won it the next year.

Palmer was 10 times the QB and I respected him more because he did more with less.
