Sounds like a Coach think he is above following the rules and taking care of your players. He needs his career deep sixed. I hope you and your lawyer loose in court and have to pay Texas Tech's legal cost. So pack up your office and go home. I can mail you a block of cheese to go with that whine.

If you think that he was in the wrong then you had better get rid of the old time coaches. All of them. From Bear Bryant, to Woody Hayes, Danny Ford, Vince Dooley.... All of them. The problem today is that as a society we believe that everyone should be equal. Today's society believes that authority is nothing more than a coach. It don't really mean anything. I blame all of this on political correctness. It's a big pile of crap that someone had to loose their job because some punk kids daddy works for ESPN. What has this world come to.

Well said. The PC police are creating a bunch of whiny babies. Working with the 20-something "males" in my office is like working with women.

I really just don't understand. I am 26 years old and looking around at the people that are my age, it just makes me sick. It seems like no one wants to work for anything anymore. I don't know if it's just the way that I was raised or what, but people my age just make me sick.

Motivating individuals on University football teams is tame compared to the treatment cadets at the service academies put up with every day , do we haul the administraters of those institutions onto the carpet . NO.
Major Universities demand winners of there sports teams , and when coaches at times act like an instructor at a service academy University admins. act like they don't put pressure on coaches to win at any cost . Leach is a victim of the system , Craig James seems to have taken advantage of his knowledge of the system to get even with Leach for his son's lack of playing time and attaining star status . Major Univ. coaches are always targets and whipping boys for Administrators and players and there parents.

I think that all of College football is becoming nothing but Polotics. I really would like to know the whole story behind Mike Leaches firing. dont get me wrong there is no place for mistreating players for any reasons at all, but what are the guide lines as to mistreating players other than the obviouse ones. like the guy said in the forum if the old greats from the past were still coaching like Bud Wilkinson, Bear Bryant and so on you would have to think they wouldnt last 1 season today. If you asked any player that played for any one of these coaches today about how they were treated they would probably tell you "Like a football player". Not all of the players liked there coaches very well at all but most of them respected them who they were and what the stood for. I think by now that all of the questionable coaching techniques have been phased out for the safety of the coaches and players but dicipline can not be one of them. I would like to know how Joe "Pa" and Bobby Bowden has transitioned over the years to what is known as Football today. Thats the problem with the society to day is its nobodys fault anymore. If you watch a football game today you can tell which players were well diciplined in there childhoods and come from good homes and which ones werent. Now thats not the case with all of them but most of them. Football is a show not a game anymore. its all about the money. I think that Mike Leach is one of the best coaches in college football today and his record shows that. I dont think that he will have a problem finding a job next year. I wonder how much money Texas Tech will have to pay Leach to fullfill his contract. Also on another note Texas Teck didnt have a problem with hiring Mr. Bobby Knight with all his strings attached.

The Texas Tech administration should right this ship immediately by offering our wonderful coach his position back and apologizing to the Red Raider Nation for the haste in dismissal without just cause.
I don't know how the administration will ever apologize for the personal harm that stands lurking for Adam James due to using him for a scapegoat, but of course his family was asking for it.

The real question here remains whether or not Craig James used his position as an on air personality to put pressure on Texas Tech to fire Coach Leach. ESPN should suspend Craig James pending an internal review. I once worked for a media outlet and an on air personality used his position in a similar way. He was fired as a result. Adam James should not be receiving preferential treatment because his father works on ESPN. That may not be the case here, but that is what it looks like.

No, the real question is how a school who hired BOBBY KNIGHT could fire a guy for merely having a kid sit in a room!!!!

That other player who whined about it being a cage is also a wuss, who should be wearin a skirt.

The James family are kind of folks who act and demand entitlement because of they occupy a position of perceived authority , (i.e.) TV personality , wealthy and have accesablity to the University administration . ESPN went above and beyond in it's journalism and slanted news and commentary to support the James Family accusations and slander Coach Leach... The putting of The james kid in a garage close the field although unorthodox was not illegal , harsh or cruel .. it was unusual .... The James family colluded with the TT admin. to fire Coach Leach for cause.... A felony in all states when the accusations are fabricated and the collusion actions are pre-determined by the accuser and the employer authority....

We laughed our butts off when we saw his cell phone video of the "closet". It was NOT dark! It was not small. The crybaby James family blew it was out of proportion. I hope the next coach falls flat and they live to regret this move!!
