Sweet Easter Sunday: Vols to Sweet 16

In another game that had fans on pins and needles through the afternoon, the Tennessee Volunteers are moving on to the Sweet 16 in Charlotte.

When you consider the fact that they barely out scored a bunch of "White Boys", the next game will be their last.#2 seed. What a pathetic joke for a basketball team, just like UT @ Knoxville, simply an over rated Community College.

Bubba must be a Kentucky or Fla fan!!..surely not a UT fan..I believe we all have forgotten what a terrible team we had just a few years ago,and to slam them now because they didn't win by as much as you thought,or they didn't play as good as you thought is totally ignorant!!..of course I know several posters are just saying certain things to fire up this board,and so be it..but just CHILL and enjoy the ride and lets see how far we can go,and at the end,no matter what happens..be proud of this team!!..they have done a excellent job~~~~~

Yes, Bubba is from Helenwood, just a short puddle jump from the state line of Kentucky. Bubba does not know there is a Harvard, he is still trying to get his GED from down the road at Brushy Mountain Prison.

Apparently you did not watch the game. At least with your eyes open. Butler beat THEMSELF, pitiful playing on both sides. Oh, I see you keep saying "WE", I must have missed seeing you on the court, now just what was YOUR jersey number? What I thought. It is THEY won, not WE moron. Go back to UT and learn basic grammar. You jerks just can’t wait to say “WE” when you had absolutely NOTHING to do with how “OUR Team” performed. It is our team that WE support, they: the team and Coaches, do ALL the hard and difficult work. By the way, I personally hope they end up number 1, they, of all teams, have worked for it. But in true Tennessee style, they let their swollen heads get in the way of their excellent talent. Pat Head does not allow her team to have a swollen head complex; she deals with it on the spot. That, my friend, is why she is successful. She fully understands what not to do. Get it?
Rather than Coach Pearl and his team whining about what seed they where, he should have been drilling his players to show all the talking heads that they were wrong, appears the talking heads were correct with their placement of the teams

I thought that the team played much more "under control" tonight than they did in the first round. Whenever Butler made a run, we always had an answer, and that was big. We still do not hit free throws very well, even in the clutch. That is a BIG problem.

I think that we are doing rather well considering Chris Lofton has been absent for the most part. He needs to be more of a factor, in my opinion. Chism has been huge, along with JP Prince today. Ramar came through with some savvy drives to the hoop in the last 2 minutes of the game. We are in trouble against Louisville without a true point guard. We will be turned over more than we were today, I am afraid. I think this will be our last game unless something is done about the guard play.

All that being said, the defense was stifling at times today. That could keep us in it. I really want to beat UL so we can have a crack at UNC.

I have to admit, I was a little nervous. I am glad we were able to pull it out in the end. What happened to Lofton's shooting? We really need him to get hot again. Prince is a good player, but he isn't a great point guard. He can makes plays but he can be a showboat and doesn't have great ball handling skills. Yes, Jordan can't buy a bucket for anything right now, but he is a good defensive player and ball handler. Remember that Dane had trouble scoring last year but he still played because he could handle the ball and make plays. Don't get me wrong, Dane is better than Jordan, but I think Bruce didn't make a great decision when so much is on line. Why didn't he try Prince during the season? And why isn't Ramar point guard?

I really doubt that you could even make a basket. So you really have no room to talk. I bet you probably went to a community college, didn't you?

Lets be reasonable Gordon Howell is not a top 4 team in the country point guard at no time. Prince could be super player but he is a smart axx always pushing and shoving for no reason getting too many cheap fouls and trying to look too good, he is not a top 4 team point guard. Could with a attitude adjustment. In order to go to the final four or national title a point guard will have to step up. Just facts.
