Big-time kudos to Coach Sampson for the way he coached the final 3 minutes of the first half. With Kentucky closing the gap and possible heading into halftime with momentum and maybe thinking they could win the game, Sampson substituted DJ White in and out of the game to protect him from his 3rd foul while giving the offense another option. We stretched the lead back out to 11 and then never looked back at the start of the 2nd half. The CBS announcers were saying Kelvin took a big risk, but it was a wise gamble for him to realize that might have been the turning point in the game. Nice, gritty team effort for the win and Coach Sampson.

Missing our starting back court the Hoosiers still dominate. Granted Kentucky is less than stellar but a good win anyway. This team will contend for a Big Ten championship and a run at a title.

I will enjoy the rest of the season now that I have DirecTV. Why anyone has cable is beyond me, It takes me 20 minutes to completely channel surf for less money than cable.

Go Hoosiers!

Huge win for the Hoosiers. We dominated the game (or lack-there-of) on both sides of the ball. Considering Bassett and Gordon were both out, I'd say the Hoosiers look very good. Crawford did an amazing job and played 39 minutes. I wish I could hear the Crawford family the next time Joe and Jordan get together.

What did Bassett do to get suspended?

Terry,
I thought EJ was only out for lunch. I was shocked when I tuned in to the pregame and saw he was not going to play. Was it just a game time call or what.

DJ was great , Crawford was great , Ellis was great & how about that supporting role by DeAndre Thomas HUH?..what a load he is...he is going to be a key factor for IU down the road , He can wear down an entire froncourt all by himself!!!Can't wait to see AJ Ratliff come back but I'm interested to see how the lineup & rotations are affected as well...Does he replace Bassett in the starting lineup????

EJ seemed to be ok earlier in the week and Friday starting to complain about pain and movement. I hope he can get time to heal over the next month. We really won't need him and don't want to take a chance. We will need him in January to start Big Ten play. I hope these guys are taking IU basketball and the rules seriously. Two of them have now violated team rules so early in the season My son is at IU, he usually knows what is going on since he has a friend on the team and a class with AJ. I really hope these guys are getting the message Coach Sampson is trying to send them

After the Xavier spanking this team has responded with quality wins over GT ,IU and MSU only BT teams 2 win in challenge, road win @ SIU, and Kentucky. Plus they r having 2 learn different ways 2 do it. If they play with the energy they did yesterday when everyone is healthy they are top 10 material. At last back where we belong.

I notice we haven't had any negative comments by our Purdue fans this morning. What a choke job they did yesterday.
I think when we get everyone back and healthy, this team will definately be able to compete for the Big Ten Championship and go deep into the NCAA Tournament.
It was fun watching the team play without some of the starters. I thought Mike and Andre showed that they can be big contributor's to this team. I was a little disappointed in Stemler's play.
Overall, good game Hoosier's.

There are a lot of players on this team. It has been a long time since IU could go what nine deep, with the expected addition of Ratliff?
Hoosier Fan, remember these are young people, they will stray once in awhile. If Sampson contines to show them some tough love they will learn.
Anyway, IU has a pretty good team and should do well in the Big Ten. March is a long time from now, so no predictions there.

How often does a team get to build up its bench strength? A lot of positives came out of this game even though it's obvious this is not one of the Wildcats better teams. This team exhibits the hustle of past successful IU teams and that makes it so enjoyable to watch. I'm just going to lay back and enjoy what this season brings. I have a feeling it's going to be an awesome ride. GO IU!!

1. Purdue choke job
2. Cryin Iliini choke job
3. Butler loss (sorry..I've tried...this talk about Butler being an "elite" program leaves a bad taste in my mouth)
Needless to say....IU victory over UK...very shorthanded....

i just hope you hossiers enjoy this year, because by this time next year the NSAA will have dropped the hammer on that guy you call coach and the rest of society calls a cheater.he sat across the table and lied to their faces once ,so rest assured you will get to enjoy the things that go along with probation transfers,no tv loss of scholaships plus finding a coach who wants to come into that situation. So again enjoy this and get ready to get beat down on hard for a dew years

Not necessary. We need to be celebrating a great win and nothing more. Stooping to this level only minimizes their accomplishment. Let's keep it on topic. When the inevitable trolls come on and start the "cheaters" taunts, let's ignore them for once. We're better than that.

congrats to IU on a good win against a BAD UK team...Now for that guy that said we "chocked"...we may have but we started 4 TRUE FRESHMAN when Mizzou started 0...Purdue played a good game and they had a chance to win on the road against a good team...Mizzou took MSU and UCLA down to the wire, and also they have won 23 straight non conference home games...Purdue played well and are only going to get better...the Louisville game will be a good one....hope we win...GO BOILERS

Let's be honest here. Some of the wins, like Ga. Tech. & SIU were very sloppy. Poor defense, a lot of standing around on offense, turnovers, etc.

Crawford has to learn to play intelligently, which he is not doing now. About 3 out of 4 times when he picks up his dribble he travels because he moves both feet before passing.

IU should not play zone. It's obvious they don't know how. How many easy shots came when they were in a zone and nobody covered on the inside?

What I took from this game was some improvement occurring while at the same time adjusting successfully to not having Gordon. They will get better.

Purdue Fan, Ur right. Matt Painter has those kids playing hard. I watched them play Wake Forest and was impressed. As they mature they will be tough to deal with. Hope WE beat you but good luck with the other teams.
