I can't believe that the schools alow this type of conduct. Went to U of Arizona this year and it was beyond terrible, the cussing, verbal abuse not only to the players but their families, and girlfiends, I had to get the Police involved when I left for fear of my personel safety. 1st amendment rights ????? bull sh_t where were my rights to watch my son play without the "students" comments?

get over it lady. sports are competitive, if you can't stand it, get out. I don't remember gladiators crying, they were warriors they were athletes. Oregon should have never apologized for the comments towards Love, and if Love was so offended maybe he should have stayed in his home state rather than running to the much hated bruins

I go to Oregon, It hasn't really bothered me in the past that our folx get so rowdy and belligerent. I have a son now who loves the Ducks and keeps begging me to take him to basketball and football games. How am I supposed to explain why the student section is chanting f*ck the Huskies to a 5 year old? I mean I may think those things but I think we need to keep in mind that there are kids at these games and they don't deserve such a hostile environment.

I got a laugh when the UO officials tried to use the old phony "first amendment right" argument to defend this vile and insulting speech. Clearly purchasing a ticket does not give the right to shout anything you want (for example "Fire" in a crowded theater, to quote Justice OW Holmes) and UO and easily eject trouble makers on the basis of the terms and conditions listed on te ticket as a condition of attending the event. This so called apology is a hollow after-though as a result of subsequent bad press for OU.

On the other hand hypocritical ucla has little to cry about as long as they continue to let their fans chant "F--- SC" at our games.

Players and coaches are not allowed to "exercise free speech" like the fans are. We need stronger leadership from AD's and college administration. Can you imagine John Wooden, Bob Knight or Ralph Miller allowing what happened in Eugene when the fans attacked Kevin Love and his family?
