Thugs ain't no way around it. Blair saw that move on world wrestling federation. This has always been Pitts calling card. Put the thugs in foul hard chip away and get them out of their game. Biggs a thug, Blair a thug, Dixon a thug, the list goes on. It's to bad they have to win like that . the good news is if we play the rest of our games solid, we will still be first in Big east.

Haven't seen this in a while. By that I mean uconn losing its composure like they did tonight. i really thought that Thabeet would have a big game tonight and this team would be ok without dyson but that didnt happen and now im not so sure. Obviously some of the credit has to go to Blair. I do wonder how blair can hold thabeets arm and take and flip him over his back and it is not called a foul and instead thabeet gets called for the foul. Make no mistake the zebras definitely had their fingerprint on this game and that was disappointing. Thabeet can be a real drama queen on most knights it seems that he goes down in pain at least once or twice. I do wonder how that plays into the psyche of the minds of his teammates. He really does need to be tougher and and tough it out instead of laying on the hardwood and crying. The drama queen had gone away in recent games but we saw him return against pittsburgh. Last thing, I wonder how AJ Prices knee is I heard Jay Bilas comment right at the end of the game that he had been limping as little and grabbing at his left knee things can get really bad if something is wrong with AJ.. Sorry for all the ddom and gloom thats just how it is tho.....

Wow.
Care for some cheese with that wine?
"Blair saw that move on world wrestling federation."
So, who was the foul called on?

1. Austrie is big reason for this loss. He missed a wide open lay in up by 5. Shoots at bad 3 instead of even looking for the best player in the game for Uconn Price.

2. Everytime Uconn slows the ball with a small lead they wait to long on the shot clock and get a horrible shot off.

3. The refs called Thabeets forth foul on a play where Blair pushed him. This changed the complexion of the game.

Bottom line. Pitt is good but they played much better than Uconn and Uconn hung in the game. Uconn needs to think about winning the next 3 and getting a chance at revenge to end the year.

Pgh native, they played like natives for sure. We got the better record and paypack will happen in Pitt. Still tugs baby, Next game we out rebound the Pitt thugs by at least 20! Fields could not make it past out guards all night and Pitts coach was asking for fouls. We foul the least of any team in the country native boy, I guess you are not too native if you live in florida. we will beat Pitt with skill and ability next time we play. take note we will own you at the ZOO!

Stanley Robinson was as useless as ever and first time this year, Adrien was ineffective until late. Damn, I hate the Dukies..... and the Pitt Thugs

Every time Thabeet gets great press; he falls on his face. Sorry, he needs to toughen up. If he can't stand up to Blair, he won't make in the NBA where he will be tossed around like a salad by much tougher players. He better get psyched for the next game with Pitt. If not, despite what the Seton Hall coach said, he will not be a first round pick.

thabeet will be good but he's not there yet, to use calhouns words we saw something special out there tonight and it was blair who did the special, thugs? I saw a prototypical big east brawl and uconn couldn't match up

The complaints about Blair, thuggishness, Thabeet not being ready for the pros, and the refs are all predictable. Thanks for the insights everyone!

Fact is: UCONN got outplayed for the first time since the G-Town game, with the same result. Pitt's strategy to take away UCONN's strengths worked to a Tee. They will need to improve on rebounding and perimeter D for the result to change when the venue moves to the Zoo in Pitt.

Pitt won, get over it! We won, you lost. You can whine all you want, you can call Blair names, that won't change the final score. Get over it!

Uconn was out-muscled and out-hustled by Pitt last night.

Congratulations, Pitt.

We'll see you on March 7th.

But for now, it's time to take out our frustration on South Florida(Saturday).

"Blair dominated Thabeet from the tip"

Wow! I'm soooo surprised! It was only a matter of time before UCONN met a solid, physical opponent and got pushed around!!! And there's too much at stake, UCONN won't win at Pitt.!!!!

I'm surprised the way Blair plays he didn't have more fouls. He's a tough customer, as advertised, and one that Thabeet hasn't played against this year. Part of Thabeet's problem was that he didn't play much. He missed about 14 minutes because of the injury and foul problems. In 11 of the last 12 games he's averaged over 35 minutes. Only 23 Monday night. UConn probably discovered it can play a while without Thabeet. Most of that 11-2 run in the second half was with Thabeet on the bench. He'll learn from this. So will everyone else. Pitt prepared for the future.

Alright already we got beat by a more physical opponent it just felt better to call em thugs. Blair played the bigman with skill. Thabeet did not stay low enough and let him back him down. Adrien did a much better job containing Blair. His size and strength were equal. to Blair. the final call on thabeet was a good call only because it could have led to a fight. it seemed like the game was heading that way. It was a Big east brawl mano e mano and Pitt took the best out it! good win Pitt you will represent the Big east well wherever you go!

Tough loss to a very good team.
Break it down and you have:
(a) match up probs--no BE team has had success playing Blair with one defender in a man-to-man defense all year. Only way he has been controlled is with a double team or a zone. No one on UCONN to match up with S. Young. He shot over or drove around the defense all night. Dyson missed badly here.
(b) missed opportunities--11 for 17 foul shots doesn't cut it. How many missed layups or dunks? Thabeet, Adrien, Robinson, Austrie all part of this. Make those easy shots and shoot 80% from the foul line and you win.
(c)pace of the game--Pitt created more chaos, got to more loose balls, AND caused more fouls to be called on UCONN. First time all year the opponent had more foul shots that I can recall.
Good news is that these things can be addressed and fixed before the next game vs Pitt or the BE Tournament.

It was a very emotional game played in a very un-emotional venue. Did you see the fans behind the ESPN commentators in the beginning of the game it was almost like you had to pay the UCONN fans to even clap or make any noise. Then Thabeet received none less than a clever "JUDO" move by Blair and there's no protest whatsoever, no crowd noise, no nothing, No wonder the Whalers left the Hartford Market, it **cks!

HAHA!
You're ON!
Native as Native cann be.
Don't claim SoFla at all.
Too many Conn jobs moved down here.
Great rivalry, Pitt & UConn.
We are lucky to have it.
Best for you to stay home, you might not survive the Zoo in UConn colors. ;)
