Seems to me that UTEP let the Beavers win...
Yes, the Beavers shot well...but UTEP could have won it.
It just gives Miner fans a chance to see two more games of Stephon...which is just fine for this Miner Fan...
Wednesday night will be a beat down...Friday even worse...

The Miners were sluggish but eventually began to flow. Digging out of a 21 point deficit is tough but the Miners came close to catching up.
Having some time off, playing at home before their fans will be to the Miners advantage.

Go Miners!

Ridiculous comment, there's no way Oregon State hits 60% at The Don, series is going three games.

CBI couldn't find better team to pay to be in their tournament? Oregon State had losing record.....No way Miners can lose at home.

Jackson is not likely to struggle the way he did last night either. OSU just had one of those shooting nights and we still made it a game.

The Miners must also do a better job of limiting their Conan O'Brien look alike they'll be fine.

all of you sound like mike price, talking about how many fans will be at the game you could have 100,000 fans at the game and it wont matter if you dont play defense and rebound also utep has found a gem in arnett but you have to use him and feed him the ball.

Shooting 60%? That's a peak performance that the Beavers will not be able to replicate. The good news is we'll have 2 more games with our excellent senior, and El Paso will benefit greatly from having folks spend for 2 games at the Don. All in all, this loss will turn out to be an all-win for UTEP, the city, and the young men on this team. Go Miners!!

Hi all... I was at the game last night. Great game. Well, of course it's easy for me to say that because my team won. But, it was a good game. The crowd got a little nervous when the Miners closed within 3. It looked to me like during that run that the Beavers simply got tired and didn't know how to maintain the lead... they stopped doing the things that got them there, and the Miners took advantage.

I know it’s going to be a very different atmosphere in El Paso… The Beavers have been helped by having home court throughout this tourney. They’re going to have to prove their mettle on the road. They have won some tough road games this year, so I know they can do it, but they’ll have to fire on all cylinders.

The Beavers mostly doubled Jackson, which is why his point total was below average. He had his best success taking quick shots before the Beavers could set up. Culpepper was impressive… he hit a few 3s in a row, and had a spectacular breakaway dunk that elicited some ooohs from the otherwise hostile crowd.(He also got away with a goaltending non-call – grabbing the rim?).

Actually, I thought the officiating wasn’t very good… but it did seem balanced that way. I saw a few obvious non-calls, and a few calls for nothing. But, it worked both ways, so I’m not sure it affected the outcome too much.

Anyway, I hope for an exciting game Wednesday… and of course,“no game” on Friday ;-)

UTEP has a habit of falling behind big on the road then having to play catch-up the rest of the game. As in the past, UTEP showed a lot of character to make a game of it. Barbee needs to make his players understand that success on the road requires maintaining intensity from beginning to end. Hopefully, this very young but talented team will understand this next year. Meanwhile, UTEP should win both games in El Paso to take the CBI title.

Greetings,

I am a Beaver alumni, was at the game, and I have to comment on how truly entertaining your Miners are. Calling them athletic doesn't do them justice, and their comeback and never say die attitude was apparent. Big hearts all.

I am just hoping the OSU can repeat, what was undoubtedly their best offensive game of the year.

Win or lose if we have one or two more games like this last one you gotta be proud of our teams.

OSU will have to do it again to have a chance in El Paso next week, I like your chances of getting two in a row as we are still a very young team in terms of our development.

good on you all,

ab
