Sorry, but in my opinion Thabeet just is not there yet.He will get eaten up in the pros. Yes he dominates against lesser opponenets but is a non factor otherwise from what I have seen.
Gavin Edwards had a great game and if he keeps it up deserves to get lots more PT...maybe more than Thabeet.

gonzaga neutralized thabeet on defense since they have a center who can shoot from outside. It took him out of his element big time.

great effort by Edwards. He does deserve more pt.

Ive been a critic of Thabeets in the past, but the dude has come a LONG way in just a few short years. He is ten times the player he was just three years ago. With his work effort, this kid is going to be a very solid pro, all he needs is to keep working on his game.

Did the camera show Sue? Did I miss her? Was she wearing any revealing clothing?

The coaches knew Heytvelt roams the perimeter. Thabeet was not prepared.

Congrats to Gavin Edwards. The team's biggest weakness this year is the backup 4/5 position. Most are waiting on Majok to fill that role and Gavin stepped up mightily. Now he needs to repeat that role and make Majok an afterthought.

everyone can say that A.J. was the reason why UCONN won but if you know anything at all about this game Gavin was the difference his tenacity and clutch plays were everything UCONN needed to seal this deal they just didn't have an answer for him off the bench, if he continues to play at this level he will be the next Hilton Armstrong

Good point but we also can't forget about Dyson's contributions. He was everywhere yesterday. He was credited for 3 steals but my count was 6. If he didn't come back out of the locker room after the injury, UConn would have lost by double digits.

You couldn't be more wrong. Clutch plays?? Edwards had several defensive lapses in the game that resulted in easy baskets. Dyson was probably the biggest reason they won. He contributed greatly in every way.

Uconn's depth and ability to benefit/use various elements/versitality makes them very difficult for any opponent. It maybe Edwards (great multi-dimensional contribution last night), Dyson and AJ yesterday, it was Thabeet in another and it could be Adrien and Walker a week from now. It makes a game preparation against Uconn a real challange and size, speed and strength combined with depth create serious issues for any defense. It spreads defense with AJ's 3 point range/floor vision and penetration, pushes back defense to double Adrian and Thabeet to split thin for Dyson's and Walker's penetration. Our weak spot is a small forward spot, but it can be substitued with either 3 tall line up (Edwards, Adrien and Thabeet) or small line up of guard combination. Let's not forget about Stick and Austrie as well as the size of back up players that could help defensively if cannot contribute on the ofense.

UCONN blows... The Zags were the better team - the Huskies got lucky, big time.

Gavin Edwards has recently been coming into his own. I too thought he used to play too soft for Big East basketball but he is starting to get it and is starting to produce. This can only make the rotation bigger more solid. The team showed a lot of heart by pulling this game out as Gonzaga is no cupcake. Jerome Dyson is also starting to show the promise he was recruited for. Hooray for A.J.. The intensity of that game made him forget about his knee. If they EVER get Ater Majok on the squad, coach Calhoun will have some logistics to work out with the minutes, but things are looking mighty good in Husky Nation.
