I've always considered Jim a great coach but the only thing that has always disturbed me is his use of bench players. Why even recruit a player if your sole purpose is to condemn him to the bench for most of his 4 years at UConn. This one trait has always been a constant during JC's tenure as head coach. What player wouldn't want to transfer and maybe help a lesser team with his talent. Jim has always had his favorites and does not really give all of his players the same opportunity to contribute. Shame on him to have such tunnel vision.

This kid came in with lots of potential and never lived up to it.
Lord knows UCONN needs a "zone buster" three point shooter but this kid did not live up to the hype.
Didn't play enough defense or show enough speed to get time on the floot.
Still need a 3 point shooter for next year!
Hopefully that will be Jamal Trice, an incoming freshman.

Darius Smith is supposed to have a 3-point shot, and Majok though 6'9", is supposed to ,if he doesn't stay in the NBA draft.

I think McCoombs-Daniel can shoot the 3 also.

Problem with high school 3 point shooters when they get to college, is that they have to either handle the ball to create their own shot (Haralson was not able to do that) or get behind a screen. UConn focuses on dribble penetration which draws fouls and that is a good thing.

But, in UConn's offensive scheme, it seems like the outside shooters never get screens from the forwards so unless they can create the shot themselves(like Price could), then better defenders from the opposing team, take away the 3's.

Offensive screening would help even with a decent ball handling guard.

There are 12 players to a basketball team. How in the world can a coach rotate 12 players during the course of a game? U show me where a coach in history has done that.

What are you talking about? Haralson was never academically ineligible and was known as a fantastic student in high school. You clearly have no idea what you are talking abuot.
Haralson missed some practice time and a road trip to stay behind and work on his grades this past season, no?

if i remember correctly (and i very well may be wrong), haralson and another player or two stayed behind b/c they had an academic commitment; a presentation i believe. they then flew in late. it wasn't an academic "problem" they just didn't make the initial trip with the team. i thought it was dyson and okwandu as well?

what is the issue here? so what, a kid transferred to a smaller school to get more playing time. happens all the time at every school in all sports. not a major issue at all. he was certainly welcome to come back, it was the kids decision to leave. whether he is a good kid or not has nothing to do with his transfer, bottomline, he wasn;t going to get any playing time this year. no defense, inconsistent shot.= bench

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Libra

You're ready to put a lot of energy and drive into the day, but you'll prefer it if you're doing things that have meaning and emotional significance for you. There's a chance that you could get quite heated over anything that strikes you as important now, and others could be taken aback by your vehemence. There might also be a minor dust-up over a financial matter.
