The NCAA tournament selection committee, like a prospective employer, is picky about the resumes it accepts of teams seeking inclusion in the field of 65.

This team shouldn't make the NIT.

"You always talk about team defense. Well, that was our team defense," Williams said after the Cavaliers became the first team in 44 games to shoot at least 50 percent in a game (31-for-62, including 20 of 32 in the second half).

How motivating! Man I want to play for this guy. Where did this mental breakdown begin. Hey Williams you are paid to produce now just a major embarrassment.

No wonder Jimmy Patsos the king of player development during the 1993-2003 campaign went for the small time Loyola and got them winning. Who would want to listen to this excuse.......

Time is up Gary, its not about one win againt Carolina anymore. Your friend Brian Billick has the phone open. Go spend your millions with him.

You will lose the first round of the ACC and the NIT. Your players are not inspired!!

Do you really believe they deserve to go to the NCAA, not a chance. I have never seen a team make so many mistakes. Turnovers this year killed this team, not Gary. Vasquez killed us, probably cost us about 6 games this year on turnovers alone. Gist disappeared. Even if they go to the NIT they won't stay long. They should just stay home and start over next year...They are not that good

All you so call Terps fans who voted they will not make the field of 65 (NCAA) will owe the Terps an apology. I am not jumping my team ship at all. They have a great chance of winning this tournament and really only need 2 wins to reach a 20 win season in the toughest conference in America. The key is to go farther than VT if they can and reach the Semi finals, and this team will not lose 3 times to Duke. Beating BC will be the easy task on Thursday, getting by Clemson will be a dog fight, but Clemson is not that good to be honest. They rely on that one guy and he takes way tooo many 3's if he is off Clemson will not beat UMD. Two wins and they are heading to the dance.

One final thought- It is not that bad a few wins and I think we are dancing, some teams actually need to win their tournament, UMD needs a good showing, and win a few games and I think we are in. 20 wins in the ACC is enough to get the Terps to the dance. The one year they didn't make they had only 19 wins. 20 is the magic number.

Two wins will not do it. Of the 15 or so bubble teams, they have the worst RPI at 70. No team has ever made the tourney with an RPI in the high 60s or 70s.

I guarantee it will take winning the ACC tourney to make the dance.

The two teams that played in the NIT a few years ago had many more quality wins, so why should this team go?

If I were on the selection committee, I wouldn't even consider this team unless they win the ACC Tourney (or at least play in a triple OT championship).

Stop kidding yourself.

I would love to see this team in the big dance, but we would be clearly robbing a much more deserving team.

This team is less inspiring than the Bob Wade team that went 1-13 in the ACC back in 88. At least that team knocked off the #1 seed in the conference tourney.

It isn't happening this year.

Gary's game is old! It is time for Debbie Yow to smell reality. Since the Nat Championship year Gary has had a sparkling new state-of-the-art arena with a fancy trophy in the lobby to dazzle the recruits, and has ened up with mid-major level talent at best! Can't recruit anymore, can't coach anymore, his teams are regularly unprepared and uninspired and inconsistent. Three NITs in 4 years? He's lost it and Debbie yow needs to cut the cord or we are looking at more of the same for years to come.

Not likely Stan. It will take at least three wins (B.C., Clemson, Duke) to have a chance to sneak in and that's only if the Bubble breaks our way. I think Don's right this time. Maryland more than likely need to the automatic bid.

Wait until next year! Time for a new coach. Notice how things changed for the best when Roy Williams took over.......UNC was terrible until then. I'd even welcome what's his name of Indiana and Texas Tech fame......time to shake the folks up.......sad but true.
