"He was the leader that we needed besides me," sophomore guard Greivis Vasquez said. "He's got to be a leader every time."

Greivis, leaders lead by example; not by self declaration.(See Hillary for how NOT to do it) Do everyone a favor and shut-up.

Clemson is a crucial game now. The Terps need to win out. That would lock them into 3rd or 4th place in the ACC and a bye in the tourney (a win against Clemson creates a 3 way tie, with Clemson and VT with a game against one another, so that will knock one of them to 5th). The bye would be huge for the Terps, because they "should" then pick up another win in the ACC tourney, and solidify their NCAA chances. I will watch the Clemson game with great enthusiasm.

This win was far more about desire than style. With Osby obviously under the weather they got a solid effort from Burney and won this game with defensive intensity. That coupled with Gist and Vasquez taking advantage of matchup problems produced enough offense to win.

This is basketball, not politics. What Greivis said probably has another translation in his native Spanish that doesn't sound arrogant. For the Terps to do well, they need scoring contributions from more than 2 players. Where's the Boom that tore up UNC?

The Terps need to win out or they will get hosed...and maybe they should after some of the poor efforts this year, but their RPI was in the upper 60's last night, The committee
doesn't have the balls to give them a birth without 20 regular season wins. If you notice they don't even give much credit to first & second round wins in the ACC tourney anymore.

Beat Clemson and get into the show. Lose to Clemson and getting into the ACC finals is a must period

I agree with Terpfan4life, we need a 10-6 ACC record because of our poor December. I am very concerned about the Terps inability to get field goals late in the game with a lead. Williams needs to watch Duke (ooh, hurts to mention them) and Coach K, his spread offense with a lead is devastating.

excellent performance by a team on the ropes. going into wake forest, where they were 14-1, only lost one game at home in 4 years. osby recovering from the flu, and with gist and vasquez playing like the leaders they are suppose to be. they beat a good team. burney was a asset as well, and tucker, bowie stepped up in a reserve role. hayes with some big threes. the big game is sunday with clemson.

I think we have to play better than last night to beat Clemson, they scare me. I don't know how they lost at UNC for the 59th time or what ever
it is, but they have talent. Does anyone else worry about how slow our Guards are? I was glad to see Bowie
play last night because he at least has the quickness to defend someone. Hayes & Vasquez seem a step slow.

Hey MDR, why don't YOU shut up! Greivis only leads the team in scoring. He's also only a sophomore and could be a first team all-ACC selection. He's learning, give him time. In the mean time, so root for Duke if you don't like him.

Osby was apparently battling the flu last night, which is why he only played like 24 minutes.

Bench production, people.

Still a big worry - we can't rely on 55 points from two players every game.

So much for that "Burney providing a spark" article from yesterday.

Terps need to win out - plain and simple.

If this team doesn't end up in the Top 45 in RPI ranking, then it is NIT bound. At 10-6 in the conference, however, it will be almost impossible for the committee to deny a spot.

The losses to VCU, AU and OU are weighing much heavier than the win at UNC - I guarantee it.

9-7 will not cut it unless they take the ACC tourney.

A home loss vs. Clemson may burst the bubble.

Didn't get to see the game last night, it's not shown where I am, but this was a must win game. Now it should give them momentum to face Clemson on Sunday @ home, a win over them would be huge and then taking care of Virginia should be reasonably easy. 20 wins and a 10-6 ACC record should get us in but I would also like to see this team at least win a game in the ACC tournament to safely secure a tourney bid.

Great win last night, it beats the he!! out of the opposite. We still have the same issues with pressure defense on our backcourt and collasping defenses but the squad overcame that and the long dry spell last night, good for them. The early season game we gave away to BC @ home and the VT series loom large in our NCAA tourney rear view mirror, a nice 3 game winning streak to end the reg season and a game or two in the ACC's would go far. As far as UVa being an e-z game.. i don't see it that way, Singletary will be healthy for this game, his last home game at that...he could post 30+ on us like it aint nothing...he's that good, we'll see... hopefully we go in there with a win over Clemson.

Go Terps

He also leads the team in T/O's and incredibly dumb plays. Subtract the points he's given to the opposition from his total, and you come up with a sum that can only be described as "unfortunate".

Umm...that works with a backcourt that doesn't turn the ball over. Umm...Hayes and GV are turnover kings.
