It's nice to see a few of you out there unserstand what's really happened to this team so far this year. Gary's one of the best in the country. Anyone that doesn't agree with that's ignorant! Ask top people in college basketball what they think of Gary, and you'll get a more accurate answer than many of the posts on here. You win with players!.... Hopefully they won't join the Gist/Caner-Medley/Garrison bust-bus as they become seniors!
1) You win with players.
2) A coaches job is to recruit those players.
3) GW has been unable to recruit those players since Hahn left (see: Gist, Caner-Medley, Garrison, add Hayes to that lineup...nickname Hayes "Terrell" (as in Stokes), and we see where the problem lies.
4) Therefore, no matter how "good" a "coach" GW is, he is unable to "recruit," and is therefore no longer useful to MD basketball.

if we all accepted this team for what it was after the American game we would be fine now..we got teased and let our emotions come into play. I gave my tickets away but got drawn back in like the rest of us. The time for a change is now, Write Moten and Yow with your concerns

AntiGary if you don't give a ****what people think of your posts why do jump on a reply ASAP? Your trailer trash comments are getting old and the crack on milking cows means what exactly? You could answer one question though...just WHO is you TEAM?
My team is Georgetown punk. You know the one where the JTII and III are. The school where the coach stood and called prop 48 biased against minority kids, while your fat ass sat around and drank Budweiser. That's my team. Any more questions?

Players who are highly recruited turn out to be busts all the time. No one knew Joe Smith or Juan Dixon would become 1st team all americans. I like the young talent on this team and the recruiting class next year. If it's all up to the coach, does someone want to adress how Billy Donovan, the back to back NCAA title defending coach, has lost 7 of 10? Is it because all of the sudden he's a bad coach, who can't recruit? IT'S BECAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE 3 1st ROUND DRAFT PICKS IN HIS STARTING LINEUP!(Which UMD almost had too when they won the title with Dixon/Wilcox/Baxter) I once again think that there's a lot of young talent on this team. Gist has been a bust in terms of improving since his Freshman year.

I aggree 100%, I'm debating the football renewal now. The only good thing is it gets me 7 tailgate parties...the football is average at best. The basketball is brutal, no way this team should play this way for the last 5 years...and don't even say it, the 2004 ACC Tourney was a complete freak

Absolutely pitiful.
I have never seen a less inspiring performance from a team that had so much on the line.
Whatever Gary said to his team this week, before the game and at halftime must have been less than motivational because this team has ZERO heart.
The good news for me is that my financial contributions to the Terrapin Club will be considerably less in 2008.
I'm not even sure if I want my football tickets any more.
The school's programs are starting to revert to their late 80's / early 90's form and it is 100% COACHING.
Very sad. Very sad indeed.

No, I really believe they recruit the black guys for their SAT scores and GPA. What was I thinking?
<quoted text>
They do. Then they send them to all the classes that have "pass em all" teachers. Then when their basketball days are over they are ready for "society" as truely fine citizens. Just look at Dennis Rodman

football is always fun for the tailgating alone and if they aren't any good you can get in with the juice and have a nice seat...they are making a big mistake building the skysuites they won't make it in this market or for this program. The schools of engineering and physics are in real need of donations so do what I did and send them your terp club dues....

Bingo! UMD is ripe to see the mens programs excited. Its all about cash. Right now the coaches are making out good, but not much longer. The mens Bball team are playing like its the days of Richie Collisium.
