what is happening to this lobo team, I heard they had one of the best recruiting classes this year.

This has to be one of the roughest starts the lobos have had in a long time, maybe the kids just need to adjust as a team and get comfortable together.

Virginia Commonwealth?! Who the **** is Virginia Commonwealth? They can't even win against such teams! And they want to spend money renovating the Pit! They should get a winning programm going first. Do what ever it takes. bring back Ellenburger!!

I remember the days when the Lobos were a national power. Okay they cheated, but when they were ranked nr. 3 in the nation and the highest scoring in all college basketball. Even years later after the program recovered after being busted and punished the Pit was sold out and electrified when the beat nr. ranked Arizona! I was there I remember. I was in the Pit in January for the first time in 10 yrs. when the Lobos hosted Air Force. Man was that sad. I mean the Lobos won. But the crowd was so emotionless. Why did they move the student section to the north side of the arena? That wasn't the atmosphere of the past that I remember. the heart has gone out of Lobo basketball! Hopefully not for good.

Nah, they just need to schedule more games against the likes of Southeast Missouri State and Western New Mexico!

You people obviously have NO idea what it takes to build a team no matter how much talent you have. It takes TIME. Basketball is a Team game and requires much much more than just great talent to win. These inpatient, instant gratification attitudes are what keep UNM going through coaches every few years. Yes this was a great recruiting class, but give the coaches and players some time to build into a cohesive unit, morons.

I have always followed the mens BB team and have seen the good and bad. It is true we are impatient but when the likes of St Marys, Siena, Davidson and UAB can get good wins and rankings...it makes you wonder and question what the **** is going on.

LOBO ATHLETICS .....a joke...because the FANS ARE A JOKE. You are all an embarassment to real college fans. You show up late for football/basketball games, you can't fill your seats, you don't know how to cheer, you leave early, and you whine about how much money is being spent on a coach. You only get from the program what you are willing to give....look at any of the real schools in the Big 12, SEC, Big 10, etc.....those fans actually support their teams....and success follows.

I agree, I think New Mexico as a whole just dosent support much of anything and isnt too impressed with much.

The fans here jump on bandwaggons, if you win they will come, if you lose they will put you down and take it out on the coach, they always leave early from the games I noticed too, whats the point in paying to get into a game then leaving early, if u were a true fan you would watch the game

And it begins! Alfraud is just following the same pattern he did when he ran Iowa into the ground. You get what you pay for with this "coach". Just wait until players start bolting the program....and I LOVE it!!!

90% of these comments are written by local yokel armchair quarterback losers who would cut their own grandmother down if they didn't have a Lobo coach or somsone else above them to blame their sorry lives on. Wake up New Mexicans. These attitudes are what keep our state living in the violent dark ages.
