Sounds like someone did their research from the ESPN documentary, I saw that also, sit down and actually read, sorry no pictures included, as to why Rupp didn't recruit black players. It would have nothing to do with the fact that his schedule was primarily in the deep south and he couldn't gaurantee their safety when playing in those schools. If that isn't enough, read Tom Paynes accounts of playing in those venues, by the way Tom Payne was the first Black Player Rupp recruited. Get a life and stay in the 'ville.

Any of you who watch the games and know anything about the game can see that no UK player has gotten better at my beloved UK since the patino era! You have to hire a coach who can get the best out of his players! Billy G. hasen't proven that yet but you better consider whether or not his replacment will be better. I mean who is available? Our recruitment hasn't fallen yet i dont like our season this year but think it through please!!Lets give a little more time!

Kentucky has had great teams and their fans suport the team whole heartly. No one can question the records and sucess they have had. After checking the records and history of Kentucky I found that they have won more SEC Championships than any oyher team in the conference and when Rupp coached they never played another Kentucky school or a school that had blacks on their teams for some reason. In 1966 this changed as they were beat by thenTexas Western in the NCAA Tournament.Maybe Ruppwas prejuice I don't know but I do know for coaching Blacks deserved to play at Kentucky. Kentucky won another NCAA with black players after Rupp retired and could of won more if RUPhad recruited black home state players like Unseld,Cox ect.
So which way is Kentucky going now?
This is not 40 years ago. This is 2009. Black/white, who cares now??? You want to punish innocent people over what you perceive was racial prejudice back in the mid 60's. Yes, it existed many places all over our country. KY is no more guilty than other places and shouldn't be punished over it. I'm a die-hard UK fan and I feel no prejudice toward people over their skin-color. Come on up to modern times. Let the past die.
