Too bad there isn't a corrupt BCS system in basketball to help them out.

That is what Billy D gets for leaving the magic. Could have had Dwight on his team, now he has a bunch of scrubs and for every year they make the NIT they lose tons of recruits. Can't wait for Teebone to be gone and it will be the same for the football team!

I attended the UF preseason game against Rollins. Calathes was hot but there no inside game from a big man. Rollins was doing a better job of rebounding, but they missed a lot of shots. I guess it came back to bite the Gators.

Way to young this year and no inside game once M. Speights left early for the NBA...Other than Calaithes (only a soph.), the rest have underachieved this season, but the youngsters have gained valuable experience for next season....We are an NIT team this season...

Too bad scUM has NEVER won in basketball. NEVER. Gators won back to back and won football in the same year.

Devestating loss at this time of year. Must win game vs UK and at least a semi final appearance in conference tourney with a win or at very least loss of less than 5 in semi against either LSU or South Carolina is the only way they go dancing it appears.

How funny this post is coming from a dolphin and cane fan. Neither have won anything in the past 6 or 7 years. Try to move on with your bitter and sad life.

Billy D needs to stop recruiting these sissies. How do you come off two championship seasons and recruit such weak players? Instead of going to Tampa for the SEC tournament maybe head over to Lakeland and play the high school kids.

If we sucked any worse we would be the suckiest of the suckiest teams in the SEC. Donovan has let the college game pass him by and his players have lost all respect for him.

I'm also sick and tired of these idiot announcer lauding Calathes comparing him to Oscar Robertson. For those who don't know - the Big O was witnessed to never miss a shot from warm-ups to the end of the game along with double digit assists! Gimme a break. Calathes can't even shoot!

I won't even begin to describe the fans of the Canes from that cesspool of a county called Dade!

Knight, why are you even on here? Your UCF teams have never won anything in any sport! Do they even play basketball at UCF? When you have a real athletic program come back and visit. At least the Canes have won something in the distant past.

UF is the premier academic institution, the scUM coCanes is just jealous. Look where the UM campus is, in a disgusting ghetto full of criminals and drugs like the football team.

The fact is UF is still a very young team. None of the current UF players will be jumping to the NBA. That spells good things for UF in the next few years. UF's troubles this year stem from the lack of time on the floor of the last recruiting years impact players which for the most part included much of the size on the current UF roster in Vargas and others. The lack of game experience for these players for whatever the reason has had a marked impact on UF's current season. Parson's and Werner are at best in basketball language 3's and in a pinch for a short period 4's. However they have been forced to play out of position because of the slow development of the recruited big's. Kadji, and Vargas (both 5's) have played sparingly contribute less than a half of playing time on the floor. Macklin (another 6'10") a redshirt, Chaney and Allen sparingly and not at all respectfully. Looking back it is easy to armchair, but using the thought that starting Kadji/Vargas in the middle with their only responsibility to defend and rebound get 30 minutes from their 10 fouls to give, moving Tyus to the 4, Parsons to the 3 and using Calathes, Hodge and the wealth of backcourt depth along with Werner backing up 3 and 4 positions might have served UF better this late in the season. FSU in a somewhat similar position put its young bigs on the floor from the beginning of the season and their progress has made them formidable now down the stretch in the ACC.
