I agree that the Buckeyes need a stronger schedule at the Schott to draw more fans. Saying that however, I am very dissapointed that we don't have more season ticket holders in spite of the schedule. I have been a season ticket holder for many years and I do it because I am an avid Buckeye fan not for who may or may not be on the schedule. Quite frankly I think there should be more than 11,900 of us.
What I think a large part of the problem is:
OSU Atheletics should do a better job of marketing basketball to alumni and non-alumni alike.
Also beeing entertained at Buckeye events should include being able to buy soft drinks for a couple of dollars instead of $4,(all concession items should be reduced by 30-50%.)
Also entertainment should mean listening to the skilled Buckeye musicians and watching the cheerleaders and perhaps the dance team not to piped in pop culture music. We are not a professional team audience that is at that other arena in town.
And lastly since the basketball program does not have 19500 season ticket holders and a waiting list what gives with ticket price increases avery year.
If the Athletic department would work on these issues the shedule won't matter that much.
