Actually, he does. You see, he doesn't look 20 years in the mirror and say how great it is now. He looks at the present and the trends and sees where the big mojo train is headed.
Hint: One team's mascot is a train, a MOJO train. The other team's mascot is....well, nobody knows exactly wtf it is, and no one can pin it down. All anyone not from Indiana knows is that it's a deragatory term describing red neck gypsies.

Knowledgeable IU fans would put their money on Painter over ANY IU coach, Sanctions or not, to win certainly the next B10 title between the two schools, and probably the next handful.
IU fans mostly THINK they are in Bloomington when watching them, when in reality they are In Denial, Egypt.
Those went nowhere and did nothing. The knowledgeable IU fans comment was the most biased garbage I have read in awhile. You do know that there is a very good chance IU will get #21 in this upcoming season, don't you?

REALLY?
Answer me this: The ONLY time Purdue and IU have faced off against each other in NCAA tourney was in 1979 in Lexington, KY. So, when a Final Four was on the line, which team wanted it more?
Yes, it was Purdue. In spite of having a slight geographical advantage, more Purdue fans showed and cheered on the Boilers to the win over RMK's team, and further to the Final Four.
So the tournament success at Purdue is measured by beating Indiana in 1979? Where should I send your cookie?

Yeah.. and Holman also is the clear leader in "drug deals made" and "referees punched out" .. a perfect fit for the Loosiers and Calving Sanctions!
Stop and think.....do you want to go there ? Thus the name...PURDUI ! You idiot , have you read the police blotter recently ? Here we go , just to refresh your numb mind . First we have the Terrance Crump hit & run , stabbings , battery on a police officer , rape , sexual battery , OWI , PI , need I go on ? Also , link me where it states Holman was involved in a drug deal . True "Purdui mentality" , FABRICATION !! A little jealous of IU I am sure . Enjoy looking up at IU in the Big Ten standings this season . LOL !!!

Love this kid, but the fact is he would have been a role-player coming off the bench at-best in Bloomington. He's much better off in Lafayette (I don't acknowledge this "West" business), where he'll have a chance to play.

And as much as I like Purdue (which is a fair amount, since I'm a half-hour away and catch sevaral games a year), there's one thing we'll never get past -- IU has done it when it counts, in the NCAA tournament where champions are made, than Purdue has. It's a shame, because we've done some great things, but we're nowhere near where the WhoShers are when it comes to basketabll. So let's talk football. Can Byrd play in the slot and not get arrested?

But its not about me, its about Byrd. And if he can't take advantage of a 5 inch height advantage, then he will struggle against taller, faster, and overall better players.

He was a freshman you were a senior ..... congrats .... you should have shut him down ... i think by the time he is a senior the kid could have the ability to make a real impact.... as for mackr commenting on the white players not being any good ..... Purdue is the best TEAM in the big ten... also boilers head to head record agasint IU is two to one ..... yikes thats bad

C'ville (the town, not the school) has D-I talent? Who knew? It's been several years since the last ones!
Early 90's saw that kid from CHS that could've played D-1 basketball and baseball, but went pro (and was a bust) in baseball instead. What was his name?
South also graduated Brandon Kaser who was a walk-on punter at Purdue...but rarely, if ever, played.
BJ Schlicher graduated from north in what, 96? Kid could've gone D-1 in Baseball, basketball, or football. But he, too, went pro baseball and was also a bust. Last I heard he attempted to play QB for either IUPUI or UIndy and sucked at it.
Not that I'm a fan of Purdue, but I hope this kid does well! It'd be a nice change!

I have seen Byrd play and the only reason you are all hating on him is cause you can't even come close to doing what he does on the basketball court. don't be mad cause you haters never got off the bench during the J.V game.

Really sucked at it? I didn't know that breaking every single season record and almost every career QB record in 1 season at Uindy meant that you sucked? Sounds pretty good to me especially for sitting out of football for 5 years...

Jared, actually Schlicher led his team in hits, doubles, and RBI his first year in minor league baseball. He chose not to continue his career for personal reasons. He was a QB for one season at U Indy and set the single season passing record. Some "bust."

Also, Matt McCarty (1994), Rob Bowers (1995), Brandon Moore (2004) have been drafted to pro baseball from Crawfordsville High School. Cameron Hobson (2008) is expected to be selected in this year's MLB Draft. 2010 graduate Steven Rice is currently a freshman at #3 ranked Vanderbilt University. So...yeah...there's some D1 and pro talent in Crawfordsville (pop. 15,000).
