Salukis hope NIT bid salvages a rough year

Not much has gone the way Southern Illinois hoped or expected it to this season, so an NIT invitation represents a chance at a second season.

People who haven't watched the Salukis in the past 6 years starting with Bruce Weber's teams have missed out on some solid, fundamental, defensive and hustle oriented basketball.
Steven, you're exactly right, the offensive punch was missing this year. I went to the game at ISU and the first 15 minutes were some of the most offensively brual ball I've seen in quite awhile.
