We're broke. You don't buy new toys for the kids when you're broke. Infrastructure maintenance (read: ROADS) should be the only thing the state bonds for.

The Infrastructure in this State is a Disaster! Seems like the more money they take from the Tax payers for Infrastructure, the worse it gets. Too many people in Government getting a Pay check and retirement at MnDot to really have the Money hit the Roads. This picture of neglect, of Roads and Bridges is proof that our Government has no idea what they are doing. Get in Goverment and retire wealthy. Why do the People keep voting for the same Right-Left politcians, that have no idea what a Dollar or a hours work is worth. Everythink has turned Green or Idenity politics with no one really in control.

What's a billion dollars to a Democrat mean anyway? A large majority of them don't pay taxes, so why should they care. I think Larry and Tony should each grow a spine and go for 2-3 billion. God hates a coward.

More borrow and spend from tiny tim. Raise the gasoline tax another nickel and get the ugly roads and bridges in this state fixed. The roads are a disgrace.

Need any more proof the politicians are completely out of touch? 3/4 of a BILLION dollars is "austere?"

$750 million for Timmy, and a billion for the Majority democrats. It seems a compromise should happen for numbers that close. I bet it won't.

Didn't we just raise the gas tax to pay for roads?

Here we go! Paying interest on taxes! And who benefits from earnings on those bonds? Here's a hint, they won't be the poor. How about we pay as we go Timmy? I don't borrow for my budget. I either find a way to bring more money home, or I don't spend what I don't have.

It's nice Pawlenty had time to break away from his presidential politicking to do his job here in MN.

$246 million of it is going towards education?! What a waste. Were borrowing money to pay for educating our kids? That doesn't seem like a proper use of a bonding bill. I thought these things were for encouraging and accelerating developments/parks/roads/build ings. Terrible.
