I just watched the Hawks/Nuggets game and was disgusted once again by the awful, pedestrian officiating. Chauncey Billups was hit with a "t" as he left the game, evidently he too was so disgusted that he made a parting shot to the ref.
It is high time David Stern tear down and re-build the NBA officiating system because quite frankly, it is an embarrassment in the world of professional sports. A good place to start would be to institute a limited amount of challenges allowed by the coaches per game. Lets face it, basketball is a very fast paced sport and even the best of refs cannot see every foul, reach-in, etc. Also allow more transparency with ref evaluations and dicipline. The Joey Crawford incident not withstanding ( ejected T.Duncan for smiling at him)the fans would feel better if we had a sense of accountability for the performance of the refs. And for those prima donna refs that enjoy the spotlight a bit too much ( you know who you are) it cannot be overstated enough that we are not watching the games to see YOU!
David Stern, PLEASE, if you love the game as much as we do, do something about this abomination to the sport.

David Stern, The calls were so bad in the PHX & SAN ANTONIO game on 12/15/09 I have lost the faith in the NBA of finding any referees worth there salt. Its just sad !
