Hey, "seriously", have you ever even read anything Gore has written? Yes, particulates have been steadily declining, but coal burning produces CO2, which is a greenhouse gas pollutant that is not being sequestered and is therefore still being released into the atmosphere. CO2 is the main focus of greenhouse gas discussions.

A few years ago I hosted a man from Moldova who couldn't believe how clean the air in the Twin Cities was. Going west on I-94 and seeing the skyline of downtown Minneapolis so clearly brought cries of wonder. Where he came from, a part of the former Soviet Union, the air is usually filthy. And he had never heard of Al Gore.

I was in LA in the late 60's when you could not only see, smell and feel the air pollution, I swear it could actually speak!

Of course, this was LA in the late 60's.

Why don't we know about how clean our air is? I'll tell you why. Because politicians in Washington have been lying to the american people to get their climate change bill passed. Our air has never been cleaner, so when you hear that we need to spend trillions to prevent climate change, just ignore it going forward and know that they are just trying to make money off the taxpayer.

And there's an example of someone who just can't accept that fact pollution is DECLINING, not increasing. Since he believes anything Al Gore has written, he probably still thinks Gore won the 2000 election, too.

Wow, "global warming" is getting worse? Really? Not according to the facts, but since when do we let facts get in the way? The problem here is the left and the "environmentalist groups" need to scare people to force through their political agenda like cap in tax, etc, etc. We're wiping out clean, affordable coal burning plants based on lies, in "exchange" for grossly inefficient, expensive, unreliable energy sources like wind. Is there a better way to destroy an energy-based econonomy that feeds the worlds, secures the world, and bolsters the entire global economy other than starving it of affordable energy? No. They're accomplishing their mission in the name of "clean energy", and don't bother bringing up the truth, as this article clearly illustrates.

...The end justifies the means. though the air is much better, they quickly change the rules so the government can keep people scared and under control. If air pollution is not a problem any longer, perhaps the EPA could be phased out and the government could shrink some...but no way. Big government will not allow that, so new "problems" must be constantly thrown at the public to justify the big government's continuation.

Well good for them! What is your point? How is that making the posters liars?

And your name makes no sense, since it's YOU'RE not your. In the above post, same thing plus it's they're, not their. Your posts are very confusing for more than one reason.

you don`t get the point, its people like al gore that forced the polluters to change their ways, otherwise they would still be polluting today.
You weren't around 40 years ago, long before Al Gore hit the scene, were you? Your saviour was hardly a pioneer in the field. His only claim to fame on the subject is he's the most wacko about it.

The article said that air pollution is way down. So just how much better should it get? Should the government keep its "boot on the throat" of all businesses until they go out of business or move to a different country? I am sure the air would be really pure if we were all lying around starving to death not having any jobs to pay for housing, transportation and food.

If air quality is good, then government needs to call off its dogs and cancel some of its agencies and departments.

The only liars I see here in these posts are those who won't acknowledge that the air is good now and that it is not necessary for government to keep hounding the private sector (since the private sector is what drives prosperity and quality of life).
